My dad is 55 yrs old, 10 yrs weight lifting experience, has a very physical job . Basically he is finding he is very run down at the end of the day which makes workouts pretty hard for him. He has had a couple years away from lifting basically due to the fact he is getting older and mixed with a job that is physically exhausting and working in the Australian sun his motivation has dropped. He was talking to me about trying Test E to try and give him a boost and help his recovery. I was wondering, because of his age would he be best to just use a little bit of Test E eg 200mg a week and see if he gets him back to a normal level (well the normal leve of a younger person ) ? Hes not after massive gains, just improving his life quality for the moment. He doesn't wanna go to the Drs for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) or anything (not at the moment anyway), he just wants to see if Test E can give him the kick he needs.

Older/Wiser members, what do you suggest ?

First things first, he needs to run labs to see if he has Low T. Run Total Test, LH, FSH, Prolactin, CBC, Metabolic Panel, Vitamin D and TSH.

It might help if he has Low T, but you need to confirm that first with labs. Convince this needs to be the first step.

Is Low T measured against age typically ? Eg I am guessing my range as 24 yr old male is supposed to be higher than a 55 yr old male?

Yes. There are normal ranges by age.

But also keep in mind that Australia has crazy low ranges. Don't go by what docs use for a range there.

Scroll down in the attached link to see a chart that shows normal ranges by age for Total Testosterone.

Australia has hot women, nice weather.....expensive everything and everything that's good is banned and now they are screwing us on test levels too lol I personally think Dad should just try a cycle and make sure he does it properly. He seems to be talking about testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) but doesn't realise it lol He was saying he would just do a low dose for 12 weeks and then PCT....so hes sort of mixed the idea of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) with a full on cycle lol.

Even if you run a cycle you need to get labs prior to establish your baseline.

Very true. I was just sort of thinking if youre going to put in your body for 12 weeks might as well make the most out of it and do a full cycle.

Absolutely. Running a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) dose for 12 weeks would be stupid. Why shut yourself down to take a dose that gets you back to where you were before?

If you need testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), you need it for the rest of your life.

Ya all he can do is get his levels checked. I would say if they are under 450ng/dl that is enough to be really effecting his performance in life. I mean realistically it would be nice for them to be in the 500's but we do not live in a perfect world so I would say anything under 450 will start to effect quality of life. But I am no specialist this is just my 2 cents lol fuck im not trying to steal half wit's motto

...and if he wants testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) standard protocol is to start with the cream..it s crap...throw it away and then they should go straight to inject. ( or give the cream to some girl whose a real piece and tell her it s new anti aging cream....

I ll bet what s left of my left nut he s low and needs trt

I was at 110, but tanked my levels running a short estered aas and then crashing hard and going in for my blood draw...you gotta outhink these fucks dude.

He needs bloods done to see where he is at. Why doesn't he just go to a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) doc if he is not looking to run a cycle or higher does than a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) dose?

Hey mate, I live in a small town of 9000 people in NSW (lol don't wanna say the name as...its a small town lol ).
