I was doing something like that before and I saw slow gains.

Im not on anything but I started doing the 5x5 routine about a a month and a half ago and am very impressed with the steady results I have been seeing.

Id look into it if I were you. You can still do it on a 3 day split like that too.

Its a good routine. DB kickbacks are gay though, so are flyes. Stick with skullcrushers, close grip bench, Reverse grip bench, and dips for triceps. WHen using that routine i like to go heavier than 8 reps on bench deads adn squats, 4-6 reps most of the time.

Estray..I know this is a different subject but I was reading one of your earlier posts about how often to eat, and with me being a hardgainer......one of your comments was to NOT eat 5-6 times per day as it will keep my metabolism flying.

So do you think this is why im finding it tough to gain.....and I should maybe stick to 3 or 4 big meals per day like u say??

Could very well be. Eat 4 huge meals and see how that works out. Also, a 3 day routine like you laid out is better for a hardgainer too than say a 5 day routine so im sure thatll help too.

im noob here so this may sound stupid, but..

Your on test and dbol, both which increase your recovery fukn shedloads. Shouldnt you be just eating more and going to the gym like 5-6 times per week?
why would you take the same amount of days off as someone without the recovery of gear?

Because guy thats probably the worst thing someone like myself could do with regards to wanting to bulk up!!!

I would consider my myself a hardgainer!!! This means that less is more for myself, due to the fact that I can overtrain very easily which would then cause me to have no gains and in some cases........maybe even LOSE weight.

Training heavy and intense 3 times per week seems to be the more suited method for myself, and tends to yeild the best results.

Hope I helped you out with that a little guy!!!!

I would have to agree. More doesn't mean you will get more gains even if you are on gear. Over training is an issue regardless on something or not and the older you get this will become even more apparent. You still only grow when you are resting regardless on gear or not; that doesn't change. Gear isn't some magic pill or something you take that changes the laws of physics. You still have to work out hard and work out smart; and the more you pay attention to that then the more gains you will get.

So true. My wife deadlifts and squats more than alot of guys in my gym. I just wanna go up to them and tell them to put some fucking weight on the bar.
