need help with routine interpretation

I found this bulking routine:

Monday- Back/Biceps
Deadlifts 4x5-8
Rows 4x5-8
Chinups or Pullups 4x8
Barbell Curls 4x8-12


Wednesday-Chest/Triceps
Bench Press 4x5-8
Incline Bench Press 3x8-12
Dips 3x8
Skullcrushers or Close Grip BP 4x8-12


Friday- Legs/Shoulders
Squats 4x5-8
SLDL or Leg Curl (do this if lower back recovery is issue) 4x8-12
Calf Raises 4x12
Military Press- 4x5-8
Shrugs 4 x 8-12


and i have some troubles with interpreatation of 4x5-8. does it mean i am to do straight sets or pyramiding? when should i add weight to a bar? are these only worksets?
 
on your Back/Bicep and Chest/Tricep days i would keep them just like you printed it,but i would add at least 1 isolation excercise on your biceps and triceps

like on biceps,do the BB curls,then maybe finish off with a DB Preacher curls or Incline DB curls......

and on triceps do both the close grip and skullbusters then finish off with a tricep pushdown like 4 sets of 15,12,12,10 to hit all three tricep muscles when you are finishing up just my opinion brother,that works great for me,thought it might help you

oh sorry man,i didnt see the dips and it says skullbusters or close grip bench,i would do 2 out of the 3 then do the pressdowns

like
close grip bench
skullbusters
tricep pressdowns

just do 2 mass building(compund) excercises and 1 isolation

or if you like dips

dips
close grip or skullbusters
tricep pressdowns

i always like the pressdowns it hits all 3 heads of the tricep,normally i do those first then do the mass excercises ,the pressdowns puts blood running through all your tris and after you do those you can get more out of your compound movments

sadly i dont have cable machine at the moment ; / so im unable to do pressdowns

ok if you dont have access to any cables,you can take a DB hold with both hands and go behind your head and do extensions like that or take 1 arm at a time and do db extensions like that...

Or lay down flat on a bench,take 2 DB and do DB skullbusters,just raise and press the db's with a pronated grip
