New and advice needed bad.

New here and needing some 411.

Always been a big girl 5"8 and until I had my children was about 220 plus. After each of my children without trying the weight kinda fell off. About 175 pounds a friend told me about Ephadrine (sp?) and I dropped down to about 145 without even blinking a eye. Because I found myself getting really hooked on this and scared of what was gonna happen if I stayed on it I started going to the gym and watching what I ate.
I moved away from town and the nearest gym is about a hour away. Chasing two kids around I still can't seem to loose the weight and found myself back in the ephadrine bottle the last two weeks. 6 X25ml tabs 3 times a day.
A friend of mine has given me some Ventipulmin and Im considering taking it to loose the weight and try and take myself off the Ephdra.
Im finding myself lost as to what to do, being active and watching my diet isnt working, 5000 in lipo didnt seem to work, 1200 for the herbal magic that made me break out in hives.
Im lost for answers, I wonder at times if I have a hormone inbalance that right after having children everything seemed to balance out. Im getting to the point I cant stay awake without ephadra but I dont know whats harder being overweight or being stuck on these damn pills?

Again any advice that anyone can give me would be great. Fat Farm is my next stop.

Did I read the ephedrine dosage you are taking correctly??? Are you taking 18 pills a day? I take ephedrine 2x per day. Total being 40 mg. I don't have any problems with this dosage.

Another question...Are you doing cardio? And if so how much? I would love to see a typical days diet also. Post your diet and workout schedule and I will try to help the best I can and the other ladies on this board are will chime in as well I am sure! Jul

I do cardio about 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes at night, I eat like a bird about 2000 cals a day sometimes less. Drink alot of coffee which could have alot to do with it.
Yeah its not good to be taking that much, because of the 2 years I been taking them and the fact Im built like a brick shit house they dont seem to work anymore unless I take 6 at a time. Im not doing on the clock, there are days I forget for a few day at a time till I look in the mirror.

Paige,
Is your cardio high intensity? If not I would either start doing high/low intensity intervals for 30 min or do an hour of low/moderate intensity. And are you doing your cardio in the morning on an empty stomach? I feel doing it that way really helps me a lot. I wait and eat one hour after finishing. I take it your are not weight training, right? I would try to weight train at least 2x per week. The more muscle you have the more fat/calories you burn throughout the day. If you are not weight training, the 2000 cals seems a bit high to me compared to your expenditure. I would take that down to around 1500-1800 kcals. This is just my opinion without knowing your specific bf, diet and training schedule. Hope this helps!!!! Jul

STEP 1: GO SEE A DOCTOR!! get your thyroid checked.. have your hormones checked...
STEP 2: results do not happen overnight, takes time and consistency...if you are eating clean (small meals 4-5x a day) watch your calories 1 calorie/lb of body weight = weight loss, weight train 3-4x a week and do 30-45 mins of cardio every day. Morning cardio on an empty stomach will burn the most fat..

as per the ephedra... try weening yourself off with a caffeine pill.. that will keep your energy up and allow you to get off the ephedra.. then slowly taper down off the caffeine pill, but you may want to drink caffeinated beverages.

i feel your pain.. just hang in there and please go see a doctor immediately so you actually KNOW how to tackle your weight rather than guessing what is wrong and what to do...

luv super

I too was doing cardio like a crazed lunatic and started doing the 20 minute intesity training w/ a 5min warm up and 5/min cool down it totally kicked my ass and my workout partners. Now we include it at the end of some of our light day workouts. I started adding up all the time I waisted doing unless shit and it was not pretty. I use the elliptical since both my legs have been reconstructed, but it will do on any machine or jog/run. I warm up for 5 then put it on level 5 for 30sec and level 8 for 30sec I do that for 5 minutes while maintaining the same pace usually around 8 or 9mph or what ever it takes to go a bit beyond my target heart rate. The for the next 6min I jump up to level 6 for 45sec and level 9 for 45 sec for the next 6 minutes and the last 7 minutes I'm on level 7 for 1min and level 10 for 1min. Keeping the same pace throughout the entire time. Then cool down on a low level for 5 min. So a linear view
warm up 5min- 30sec/low, 30sec/high 5min - 45sec/low, 45sec/high 6min - 1min/low,1min/high 7min - cool down 5min. Hopefully this will help someone out. Cheers!
