New Cyber Security act, Americans will have "Internet ID's"

So I was in line to get my scripts filled at the pharmacy and was reading news on my cell phone.

Came across "Obama and Whitehouse push for new internet IDs for U.S. Citizens" So I pooped a brick right there.

Got home and looked it up. Well what do you guys think? Seems like another smelly layer of crap similar to the Patriot Act.

It will start off soft and not be forced, but you know down the road it will become "necessary"

This is something that could potentially wipe out our lifestyle and the use of forums such as this as it mutates into bigger things...

I believe the goverment just wants there slimmy hands on everyones money, its funny how every supplement that works gets yanked off the market, but booze and tabacco is killing more people every year. they dont yank booze off the shelf or tabacco. if I want to run a cycle, why is it eny of there buisness, im not hurting nobody, and I dought they care if I hurt myself, Fuckem

But what I understod is that they are doing this to be more secure with protecting your identity when you make a transaction online, like online banking, they will give you a cyber ID and this will confirm you are who you say you are while you are making this transaction.. I think is more to protect consumers who do online banking, online transactions than anything else.

I wouln't worry about it, something new pops up and human nature makes us paranoid, I say let's wait & see how this turns out...

you'd be amazed at how much info you can gather with just a few items of info.its truely pretty easy so this really isn't that much of an issue really.
 
I understand what its being presented as. But what has everything else been?

Assault weapons ban, for our protection
going back every thing we get stripped of is for our protection.

This is also for our protection, and it seems simple enough at first but knowing our loving federal government its just a platform to build something bigger on.

One of my best friends works for the DIA. Believe me, if they want to see what you're doing, they can. Nothing you say on here or anywhere can be hidden from view. i wouldn't be concerned about this.

if they wanted to bust your piddly ass two bottles of test or whatever you got hidden in your shoe box, you would've been busted by now.
 
Yeah and what do we really gain from this? I've never had someone steal my credit card from an online transaction. Even if they did I'd get a phone call and it would get refunded. So obviously this is in the interest of the government and not in the interest of the people.

alot of people are ill informed abt anabolic's, and media has ran smear campaign and Pro athletes when the truth is almost 77% of pro athletes use them and think only a selecta few have used anabolics,,,, this really is kind if subject but at the gym i work out at i asked a trainer there "why don't they get 120 db's"? He told me they didnt want to attract steroid crowd! I told him anyone can lift 120 db, half the members would appreciate more weight,,,,,,,,,,,,, any how fuck them and government does love their control d bags

as old as the internet. They are one in the same.
In 97 there was the Carnivore system (FBI). That changed to NarusInsight
around 05. Patriot act... Each program/law evolves as the internet does.
They will always be trying to read more because people are more and more connected now. Its very easy for them to monitor and also much easier for groups to communicate and organize. For now.

Actually I had my identity stolen once somehow and it had to be online lol. Not sure how though, I mostly only used ebay at that time.

Yes...encryption and personally developed code are honestly your only options for real security.

On that note I am probably on a black list for being a raving wannabe revolutionary or something crazy :bash:
 
I am for anything that increases security, but I would prefer that private business does it. It will be ruined or exploited if the government does it.

Here is a good example. Some stores use their shopping clubs to notify customers of a dangerous food recall. They know what you buy and when, so they can notify you if one of your items is flagged for salmonella contamination (for example). I heard Costco is good at this because you need to be an actual member, guaranteeing that they have accurate contact info on you. I like this program, but I wouldn't want the government tracking everything I buy under the guise of "watching out for me".
