New here Lab test question?

Hi,

I am a 47 year old male 6' 170lbs who used to be very active but have been having bad fatigue and other symptoms. Doctor tested Testosterrone, Ftest, Estraidol, and Dhea which were all low and Projesterone which was mid normal. I was already on a low dose armour thyroid because of the fatigue and earlier tests showed borderline low T3 and a TSH of 5.0

He put me on some compounded cream with 30mg DHEA and 10mg testosterone. Which I had been using for a few weeks before I asked to be retested and add some other tests that I read were important.

I was wondering if anyone could give me some input on these recent labs. My doctor is a nice person but I am not sure that this is his area of expertise.

TSH 1.82 (.34-5.6) (I am on 30 mg armour thyroid)
Prolactin 3.42 (2.6-13.1)
LH 1.43 (1.24-8.62)
FSH 3.23 (1.3-19.3)
Gn-RH 7.1 (4.0-8.0)
Free test 7.0 (6.8-21.50
DHEA 105 (95-530)
TEST 381 (175-781)

Is there anything else I should be addressing here? Input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

alan

Do you have original labs for comparison?

Total test and free test are still really low. It would be a good idea to get your SHGB tested also.

I feel a bit better now but no where near ideal I guess. The original labs are:

freeT3 2.7(2.5-3.9)
Progest .33(.10-.84)
Test 167.3 (175-781)
Ftest 3.9 (6.8-21.5)
dhea 92 (95-530)
TSH 5.0 (.34-5.6)
FreeT4 .74 (.61-1.12)
Estrasiol 10 (20-75)

Thanks again for the input. I really want to sort this out and do the right things. alan

The ideal test is the upper 1/3 of the lab value. Many doctors won't be happy about you getting there. I did not see your new estradiol result. That is my trouble hormone, keeping it regulated so I have morning wood is hard for me. That is how you know your Estradiol is in the right spot.

I agree - Estradiol is important along with SHBG.

I have erection problems (its emberassing) - dont get morning wood often and cant stay very hard. I will be having the doc address that on my next visit ;)

But yeah, I would get those two tested again.
