New to the board - Question about the best direction to go

Yes, damn near impossible for some to do natty. Gear makes it a lot easier, but it's still all about diet. With gear, you can do what amounts to a mild cutting cycle, but the gear will prevent you from loosing any muscle, and usually helps build a little.
 
Give time, it will happen . . . and it will SUCK! I'll be laughing at all of you young fuckers, if the nurse at the retirement home will wheel me over to the computer.

By the time you're that old we'll probably have robot nurses, and no need for wheel chairs. They'll just keep replacing parts as you get older... you'll never die. Never.
 
Guys, I see a lot of good advice here for guys in their 20's. OP is 40, I think he knows how to train and how to eat. As a guy in my 40's I can tell you first hand that there's a point where your body just isn't getting any better on it's own. I think he'd do well on a 500-600mg test cycle.

I hear ya. I didn't want to convey he wasn't physically ready or too immature. Truth is, i've seen a lot of 40 year old noobs thinkng they've got it figured in the gym. Not that the OP is a noob, because his lifts suggest he isn't. I didn't want to assume he'd been training for years already and miss giving him decent advice. With that said, i think he's at a perfect age for AAS. I'm actually pretty pumped for him!


And again, i'm not saying the OP is this way, but i've seen some crazy crap coming out of the 40 plus croud at my gym. It's like some form of abstract art + weight training. Slightly sad, but mostly entertaining.
 
After assessing the facts. My recommendation to you sir in regards to the "best direction to go" is just continue what you're doing and train natural. I'm of the opinion that if you have not gotten into "supplementing" your training yet, it's best not to go there at all.
There are complications with going the anabolic route. Many times those who have reservations on this stuff come here to get the "approval" for a go ahead from others. Not saying that's the case with you, but there is a certain degree of ethical, legal responsibility with anyone giving another person, a rubber stamp of approval to go ahead and inject exogenous substances into their system.
As well, you are 40 years of age..when you discontinue these substances your HPTA will be suppressed and you don't know how long or if you will fully recover. It gets harder to get your natural hormones to bounce back after a cycle the older you are.
It's just a fact.

Pfft bullshit. I did one of those sixpackshortcuts workout routines on youtube; gained 30lbs and lost 25% bodyfat in 15 minutes. Fuck a recomp. :wiggle:
