new to the forum, and need some advise.

Next level, I felt awesome just 2-3 days after my initial shot of 200mg! I tested my TT 4 days after the shot and it was 1220! So I called pharmacy and asked what the half life was and they said 8 days. So, my TT was ~1600 the day of or after the shot. I talked doc into 150mg a week and self injections the next week. The rest is history. (: I didn't test estradiol until about a month or so after getting treated. I would seriously suggest you think about taking half your dose every 3.5 days. I tried to stay on the weekly shots as long as I could, but alas I had to do something because I couldn't get an Aromatase inhibitor (AI). I actually like doing it this way better than 1x week shots, save for the extra pin. But, hey, it's all about how you feel. You may be fine with once a week. It's just something to think about.

Hey, I am contemplating on whether I should wait till tomorrow morning to go get drawn at labcorp, or just go today? Tomorrow morning is my next shot. I took last shot Friday night. I am thinking I should wait till tomorrow to get a trough value... Opinions? Thanks

Also, about how long does private md usually take to post results after being drawn?

Results are in and I am shocked! I'm gonna back the dose down to 50mg every 3.5 days instead of 80mg's. I just pinned another 80mgs this morning....dangit. Once weekly dose does not correlate with 2x a week apparently. I also got the anastrozole from safemeds4all.com and it only took 5 days from time of order! I took .25mg just now.

I need some opinions...

Should I wait longer than 3.5 days to pin again?

How long do you think before the hematocrit starts going down?

How high has anyone had their hematocrit before noticing symptoms?

I unfortunately was honest at the red cross and said I tried injecting drugs when I was younger and I cannot donate...):

Maybe I should go back to once a week now that I have an AI?
I had it dialed in good with once a week, going from 1200 to 600 by next shot. Same dose cut in half and 2x a week and i'm way over normal.
My HCT went up 4 points in a month!

Anyone?

I'm thinking I'm going to skip my injection this Friday and test my Testosterone and CBC at my work this sunday to verify. If still elevated, I am going to ask my doctor about theraputic phlebotomy. I really hope he doesn't discontinue my ability to self inject after hearing the Red Cross issue. I only tried it once when I was "experimenting" as a teenager. I think that rule is out of line if you ask me because they do it because of HIV and hepatitis precautions. I am negative on all that stuff, and can prove it.

I would really appreciate some feedback. Thanks

What Red Cross Issue?

I would keep injecting.

Your hematocrit will come down as soon as you donate blood. Try going again to donate and consider leaving part of your story out. If Red Cross won't take you back, there are other places that take blood donations.

They won't let me donate again at all because I said that I injected drugs in the past...one time experiment as teenager... What other places will take blood donations?

Ok. Just got back from the doc this morning. Here are my labs from yesterday at work:

TT 861
HCT 51.6
HGB 17.1

Here is 6 days prior:

TT 1486
E2 76.4
HCT 52.3
HGB 18.0

I asked my doc about decreasing my T dose to 50mg 2x a week, and he agreed. He said that he is not concerned with my HCT levels right now, but if they get to 53 or 54, we will need to do something. I mentioned theraputic phlebotomy...he said, yeah, or send you to a hematologist and have them do a bone marrow biopsy or something and then laughed. (: I was like...I don't think we need to go there. haha

He wants me to start injecting tomorrow, and recheck levels in 2 weeks. Do you all think that 2 weeks is enough time to stabilize and get an accurate picture of how the new dose is working?

So, I didn't have to mention anything about my experimental days of the past...thank God! I am going to see if I can donate at another institute however. I have heard about the Red Cross' Donor Deferral Registry, and them giving it out to any blood bank free to use, so I might not get to.

I would give it about 4 weeks before you check labs again. 2 weeks is too quick.

You doc can write you a script for a therapeutic phlebotomy. Have him do that if you can't find a place to let you donate. Do it now - and every 56 days after that - to lower your hematocrit. Don't wait for it to get too high. There is no need for a bone marrow biopsy. Donating blood takes care of the problem.

Great news guys! I got my labs back after 2 weeks of 50mg twice a week. I had labs drawn on Tuesday right before my shot. So, this is a trough level.

TT: 663
FT: 154.8
E2: 27
HCT: 53.2
HGB: 17.4
RBC: 5.81

So, looks great except the HCT is still up...might need to do theraputic phlebotomy...I can't donate. ):

Looks great but you are correct, you need to do a theraputic phlebotomy, there isn't any might about it!

Congrats on the numbers, how do you feel?

Nice work!

We'll, I figured since I'm at work on Christmas...the least my employer can do is run my labs. Lol I'm waiting for 2nd shift to start, then I'll run them and post it up. Should be a peak value, or somewhere close to that. Got drawn at exactly 23 hours and 30 minutes from my last pin.
