"Older Guys", TRT and upping your calories
Well before the start of my testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) at age 42 (first week in) I had my work outs in order and completely overhauled my diet.
First things that jumped out at me...1. I don't have the appetite/can't eat like I used to and 2. it is surprising difficult, at least for me, to drive up my caloric intake with a clean diet.
Questions for those that have been on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and might not be looking to bulk up as much as you may have wanted to in your 20's or 30's...
What are your net calories on an average day? (my net is 2500 -2600 with some force feeding and protein shakes) I fear some groans from the crowd here...
Protein intake? (I am hovering around 187lbs today, and taking in about 250 - 280 g)
Anyone with a 4, 6, 8+ months in finding gains you are happy with without blasting past 3,000 and above net calories a day?
I know we are all different but I just have never been a big eater even 20 years ago, now it seems even harder, especially eating clean.
Interested in any feedback. Thanks!
