opening the amp

I've heard different ways to get the top of an amp like w/a knife, amp openers and just breaking the top off. What do you think the easiest and cleanest way is w/out the amp opener?

Use a Pen cap...or score the neck of the vial...

amp opener hands down!!!!!! You could always use a triangular file and just pop it I havent personally done it that way but I've heard it works great!!!!!

buy a small triangle file at the hardware store and score the neck completely around , then hold the amp in a small towel to protect your hands and gently pop the top off with your thumb

Mine come pre-scored, I hate amps, these are HCG though so no choice. I'd get an amp breaker, but I use a dremel at home with a cutting wheel (thin), works great.
