Lately since I have been going heavy on weighted dips I have been getting a horrible pain in my neck at the base of my skull. It hurts like fuck, any ideas?
I get the same thing. You tighten your neck up for stability, watch for it next time. Everyone does it.... itll eventually not hurt as bad once the muscles get used to it. Everyone tightens thier neck just like everyones head shakes real bad when doing shrugs....
The pain in the neck is common, heres something I learned, when doing heavy dips, make sure that your tongue touches the back of your teeth. Your tongue is a stabilizing muscle in the neck. Also It is a good idea to do some neck exercises to strengthen your neck.
