painful lump from sub q injection

I have been on trt for about 1 1/2 months, and have been doing sub-q injections twice a week. I have a large painful lump and a nasty bruise from my injection last thursday. I always use a different needle to draw and another for injection. I am starting to wonder if I need to go to the doc and get it checked out.

What are you injecting?
Where are you injecting?
Why sub-q?

3J could chime in this one, i thin he had the same issue at one point, i know subQ is a method of injecting Test but i dont understand it, seems crazy to me.

yea this is what I don't like about sub c injects. It does that to me every 1/3 shot or so. Try going into the delta with the insulin syringe.

hope this helps

I went to have a ultrasound ran, the doc said it did not look infected but put me on some antibiotics anyway. The swelling has went down some, but I am done with sub q.

yea... i had the same experience... that lump is going to be there for a while..

here is what i recommend.. instead of going sub-q.. go into the muscle... i inject about 1/2 a cc twice a week into my quads and delts

This shit has me so paranoid thinking I have some type of infection, but I really don't see how it could have got infected. The doctor told me on the ultrasound they saw fluid build up. I took .5cc shoulder in delt so I am gonna stick with IM from now on, and hope I don't have to have this drained. 3J how large was the lump you had? I swear it feels like mine is moving, but it is not hot to the touch and the skin is not red.

I aspartate. Yes.

And it was fairly large. If you show no signs of fever or infection you'll be fine. It will take weeks for it to subside.

SubC injection issue.

I understand this thread is over a year old, thought I would take a shot in the dark here and possibly get some of your guys attention, closest thread I can find to my situation, I did a subc injection of 1ML Test C on the right side of my belly button about 3-4 inches away and now there is a 2-3 inch depot/lump of sorts all the way to my belly button where my belly button is the most sore but the spot itself of course is as well, I don't think its infected or nothing, wondering if I can massage this down or what anyones thoughts are?

Don't massage it. As mentioned above, it will takes weeks to disappear. It's just an unfortunate side effect of subq oil injections. Also, 1ml is way too much to put subq. You should never go over 0.6cc subq. Your lump might take a lot longer to disappear because of that.

In short, you just have to wait it out.

I spent a year doing sub-q injections and amassing data .... I then decided to switch to IM.

I did get the lumps but not very frequently ..... they will go away with time. In extreme cases I would get very slight bruising in addition to a lump. I originally went with sub-q because I feared needles and that 8mm 30g insulin syringe was not intimidating at all. Since changing over to IM I use a 29g 12.7mm syringe and they are as close to painless as can be. Since making the change I have had no lumps or bruising.

I would personally not inject anything over .5cc sub-q .... the oil really has no choice but to temporarily sit in that layer under the skin for a period of time and if the amount is too much it is going to lump.
