Pinned in leg. 1st time. Geezzzzzzzzz!

So after reading many post & watching numerous videos, I got up enough confidence to pin my leg. Though the needle appeared to look like a harpoon, the longer I starred at it, I finally done it. I tapped the syringe along the top of my skin & found an area that the point of the needle felt a little numb. Once the needle slid in like butter, I thought this is EASY
Once I got up to walk it feels like someone has dead legged me in my thigh :wtf: It will probably be some time until I attempt it again.

That's weird. You often get pain the next day when you pin virgin muscle. But not immediately. You might have hit a nerve. Or did a lot of blood gush out when you removed the needle from your leg?

Delta are a great spot for pinning. But you have to do it one handed.

More blood than a normal pin...about the size of an eraser on the end of a pencil. It did not hurt going in though. I did not aspirate either nor ever do. Since I'm still new my hands are still a little shakey. I figure I do well enough to get the job done; much less take the time to aspirate. Besides once it's in....it's in. I'm not going to decide that it wasn't the best spot & poke myself again. LOL It's just a 50-50chance I guess.

It'll get better. Just have to remember that a needle is a tiny knife, and when you're shaking like a leaf - you're going to cause some trauma. Pop an ibuprofen and take a nice hot shower. Keep an eye out for excessive swelling (I'm talking golf ball) or fevers. Otherwise, it's just your body bitching at you for stabbing it. ;)

My .02c :)

You should inject in an area with less nerves, like the Ventro Glute, what size needle did you use?

25x1 needle. No bruising or swelling. I believe I will stick to the glutes! You know when I inject my Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) it's no problem, my hand is steady & rarely ever feel a thing. It's just something about the bigger intimidating needle & never really been known for wanting to stick a piece of metal inside myself. Anyhow I was just whining, sharing & fishing. Thanks guys!

I pin my quad with a 1/2" 29g slin pin and never had a problem. Probably not that deep in the muscle, but not sure how much it matters. If it's the length of the needle bothering you, you could give it a try. FWIW I'm only injecting .5ml with that.

You can do subq test injection too -- just like you do with hcg.

Or try this. Next time you do IM,get the needle into your muscle. And then just leave it there for a few minutes without holding it in your hands. Do this in the quads where it can stand straight up -- not horizontal. Just get used to having the needle in your muscle. You'll see it doesn't hurt and you don't have to rush. Learn to take your time.

Remember to breath slow deep breaths while you are injecting.

The mistake I made with virgin muscles the first few times is I just DUMPED the test in there like b12 horrible choice. Take your time and inject the shot over about 2 minutes the first few times. I did (exactly) what your explaining and this fixex the problem. Your muscles aren't used to holding liquid yet. I went and bought b12 and shot each muscle a few times before I loaded it with thick oily test and it seemed to work. Take longer to inject the oil and if you want to experiment and shoot every muslce in the body like I have then break them in with some b12, or even test enth it isn't nearly as thick as cyp and goes in twice as smooth. Hope I helped.

(edit) oops, should of read all the posts. too little coffee.

I pin subq, never really had an issue when using decent quality test. Occasionally I get a small swelling, but always goes down within a day.

On the single occasion I did go IM into quad, with a 29 gauge 0.5" needle, I had the same as you - nuclear dead leg for about 3 days, and some warmth in the injection site. I wasn't too concerned, I just figured it was because I'd never done it there before. Austinite told me it was relatively normal when you start using a new spot.

Either way, seemed too much hassle - I've just gone back to subq, and plain sailing.

I've pinned a grand total of twice now in the quad with a 22g 1.5" and have had absolutely zero discomfort or issue. It's about time I get lucky in some respect. I do take my time pushing the plunger. I'm only pushing 100mg...think the amount has something to do with it?

have your results (how you feel, levels, etc) been the same subq as IM?

Absolutely it does. The more liquid the greater the risk of discomfort. And injecting slowly makes a world of difference.

22g is a harpoon! I'm using 25g. :-)

Hard to say objectively, since I only pinned IM once. However, I can tell you I do feel awesome generally, trough T level at 900. Subq also aromatises less than IM I'm told, so less Aromatase inhibitor (AI) is needed.

the best way to go inmho is 25 gauge, 1.5" in the arse! i use a 22g or 23g to draw up the juice, swap the head with a 25g and go to town! I inject twice a week, so I just switch cheeks each time. Probably the easiest, least painful, most efficient way to inject.
