Problematic G.P. won't hand over photocopies of my labs................

Many of you might know my experiences with a specific G.P. that's been ignoring my hypogonadism for over a year.
I been asking for 2 weeks now for photocopies of my blood labs from last year. I have most of them but need a few more.
I want them for my records and to go to another Endo. Secretary won't do it she said and that I have to come in to see this doc for an appointment.
I don't want anything to do with this guy...he's totally abusive toward me and apathetic towards my situation. I've been going there for 16 months since off testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and he keeps making money while I was suffering with Low T.
I told his secretary that I need those labs cause I have to see and Endo and she got all jumpy saying that I needed a referral and that who referred me there...
never told her doctors name as it's none of her business. But I heard her typing into computer to check medical records...
and she started throwing doc names out to see which one sent me.
What the heck do I do??

Call your insurance and see who keeps the records.
Even though I get my bloods done through my family practice, the local hospital keeps all the records.
Your doctors office is likely just pulling up records that are stored electronically somewhere else.

In the US they can not do that anymore.

Assuming you are in the US this dr is required by law to provide records to you. He can however charge you whatever the state mandated record copy fee (in FL it's $1 per page for 1st 25 pages).
Tell the secretary you are going to another dr because he has ignored your complaints. Tell her you want a copy of your records ASAP or you'll report him to the state medical board and go online to sites like healthgrades dot com and blast him. Call them on their bullshit and you'll have your records in no time!
