Progressive Strength LOSS?! Please Help

Hey Everyone,
As most of us normally do, I have been consistently gaining strength ever since I started working out (4 yrs ago?). This past spring I finally broke 300 lbs on the bench and up til about 6 weeks ago I have been able to consistently do a few reps at 295 to 310 depending on how I feel on a given day. However, over the last 5 weeks I have lost a ton of strength. I maxed out a few weeks ago at 270, then a week or two later I couldn't do more than 255, then the other day I barely pushed up 225 after 4 reps! This is not normal for me, I could bust out 225 for 12 a year ago. I can't figure out where/why I am losing all this strength. Other than super pump, protein, and multi-vits, I don't really take anything. I haven't changed my workout, diet, or sleeping patterns that I can link this loss in power too. I'm only working out 3-4 days a week so I don't think overtraining is an issue.

Any input that you can provide would be appreciated! Thanks fellas.

sounds like youre trying to max your bench press too often. you have to de-load it or switch your ME exercise for a few weeks.

You have to deload or take time off, you cant give 100% each time. Deload for about 2 weeks and all your strength should come back & more.

Sounds like you are overtrained, take a rest and get back at it.
that would be my guess as well . along with the guys saying hes maxxing to often . the cns can only take so much .

It depends on how you feel, If you want to have success with bodybuilding and avoid injuries you need to get to know your own body.

Deloading is really just dropping the volume and intensity for a couple weeks. Like it was said earlier in the thread we cant go balls to the wall 100% of the time. body needs a break every now and then.

If you're on gear and this is happening, definitely overtraining. Follow the above advice. If you're not on gear, you're still overtraining.

it doesn't matter if your on gear or not.. you should still deload to allow your cns to fully recover. Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) will allow you to train more intensely and will cause more stress for the cns so deloading should be almost more important when on

yes very important unless you are on allot of sauce. Take some time off yes like 5-7 days so your cns is back up and running and during this time off do NOT take any ephedra or anything like this that would flair your cns. So not allot of cardio

I had the same problem. Sometimes you have to take some time away. I am right now but I went to the gym to see where I stood and I felt strong again. Pushing the same weight when it was at its highest. Just need a break maybe.
