Prolactin and Low Libido????

Hey guys,
could a consistent prolactin reading in the upper third range be the cause of my low libido. Also have poor erections without cilias.
All other labs look great.

Total test 816(348-1197)
Free test 19.2(9.3-26.5)
SHBG 33.3(16.5-55.9)
Estradiol sensitive 19(3-70)
DHEA-S 155 (31-701)
Vit D 74(30-100)
Prolactin 12.3(4-15.2)
DHT 56(30-85)
Cortisol 13.1 (2.3-19.4)
Labs taken at. 12:30pm

Everytime I test prolactin it's always above 10 but never above the range. Wondering if I should try to get this down or if it's any concern.
I know libido can come down to just about 1 million different factors, I just recall

I doubt it. More likely it i because your E2 is on the low side of the optimal range. If you are taking an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) you could back off slightly.

When did you notice low libido? Always or upon starting testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) or changing something in your protocol?

I can't remember. What is your testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) protocol?

Play with any 19-nors lately? Unless you have something going on with your pituitary gland, it's not that common to see an elevated PRL with a lower E2 value in my experience (not a doctor). You primary or secondary hypogonadal?

I'd like to agree with Megatron about the low E2, but since you bolded that PRL, I would at least take a look into it. You can always see if a dopamine agonist (talk to your Dr. about them) may be a course of action if nothing else proves fruitful. :)

Always had lower libido. I'm on 80mgs per week, that's it. I would agree though when my estrogen was higher on 100mgs per week, I definitely was hornier.

I took tren a year ago, but it never seemed to have come down. Secondary, had a pit mri done, came back clean.

It's always nice to have a guy that knows what's going on. :)

Are you running an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) as Mega mentioned? Dropping that down plus caber might be the magic ticket. Also if you're pushing your mid 30's, I'd look into Cialis. I didn't think I needed it and once I started taking it - BAM! The missus couldn't be happier (well, okay sure she could, but REALISTICALLY speaking here!). :spin:

But prolactin is well within the normal range at 12.

Yeah, but some are more sensitive to it than others. Think about how many guys that are within range for E2, but feel crappy until they head towards the lower end of the "optimal" range. We have to remember too that the ranges give include 18-80 year old men, many of them sick. That's why I'd at least investigate the possibility of it being a factor.

Absolutely nothing wrong with your advice, I just would pursue other avenues as well. :)

I have never seen prolactin ranges charted by age. That would be interesting to see if there is a correlation. For all we know, 25 year old men at their peak may have prolactin levels at the higher end of the normal range. Maybe prolactin goes down as you age or get sick. Maybe it goes to the upper end of the range. Definitely would be interesting to see this if the data exists.
