proper close grip bench

When doing triceps on close grip bench i always kept my elbows close to my body, but i noticed a lot of bodybuilders keep their elbows far apart like with normal bench.

So what is the "proper" way of doing it?

keeping you elbows out will work a different part of you tricep, but it can also make your shoulders more prone to injury. which is one of the reasons why you see most powerlifters keep their elbows in with any type of benching.

It all depends... What are looking to get out of the movement?

bigger stronger triceps ;)...main focus to strengthen the triceps for benching

Just tried it today and i really felt more pressure on the shoulders...ill leave it for when i start cutting and use lower weights

If I try elbows out it puts too much stress on my elbows. I want to pack some mass on my tris overall, which exercise is best?
