Question about recovery on AAS and Neglecting a body part

No longer Cycles
People give me sh*** for this, but I don't hit my legs.
I did for about 2 years out of 3,5 years that I'm lifting.
Legs still look bulky, but its been a year since I had a leg workout.
It doesn't fit my schedule at all, I have to sit, bend over, and walk a lot at work which is pain after a nice leg workout. So it was messing with my productivity at work, it took my legs long to recover. Plus I don't get as much sleep time as I should due to my full time job and uni.

Now that I'm on cycle, I heard recovery time is faster, is it really noticeably faster? Does it help soreness go away quicker?

Soreness and recovery are two separate things. Soreness is not necessarily indicative of how hard you trained a muscle just as you can be fully recovered from a workout but still sore.

I would always do legs, it's the basis of all your power, that and hips. Bulky or not (my legs are like free trunks compared to upper body, I squat heavy 3x per week and have a very physically demanding job.

Cliff notes: do legs even if just squats. If you want to do more cut back on machine exercises and/or volume to reduce DOMS

aas do make recovery better and faster. regardless of your aches and pains, if your not squatting your entire body is lacking. are you at least doing deads?

Yes I'm doing dead-lifts once a week, and my calves too. For example if I were to do a leg workout on tuesday, I will be sore Wednesday. After walking around lifting, bending over at work, soreness gets even worse on Thursday. So I'm walking like a robot who can hardly bend his knees. I got to the point where I was squatting 315 x8, my diet was on check, but soreness was unbearable.

Hats how I was at the beginning but after a while it becomes normal lol. My job again is very physical, always on my feet, climbing ladders, picking up heavy equipment, crawling, bending etc and I squat 3x a wk and dead lift 1-2x a wk and soreness is not an issue for me. Try cutting back on the volume of your leg day or keep volume high and lower intensity a tad bit.

this is how i would approach it. id try a single 20 rep set 3x per week to start. id give it a couple weeks before determining its not working out.

I throw around ladders all day, up and down, in crawlspaces and barely ever get to sit down while working. I still do legs and love doin them. sometimes when I'm carrying real heavy stuff around, I do a farmers walk. I love training legs..

nothing worse then a guy admitting to not hitting legs... legs are your biggest muscle, idc how big you think your legs are, work them!

Maybe getting deca dick AND not working legs?! Lmfao. I agree if nothing else legs should be the first thing to work.

Pussy lol legs is what separate the men from the boys. Man up. Everybody's got an excuse for why they don't hit legs.

I'll just stick to the basic compound movements like squats and lunges. Anything that puts too much pressure on hams I'll try to avoid because hams what mostly bothers me. I think they still look okay for a natural guy, just lost the definition.

Gotta do em. Don't be "that" guy who skips legs. I am walking and carrying people for 12 hours straight at work and still hit legs. Eventually the DOMS will be just a pleasant reminder that you lift properly.

Your legs are the base of your body and in my profession, the core of almost all of your strength. If I had a player that didnt work his legs he would get thrown around the field at our level of competition. Working your legs benefits your body as a whole. If you want to get bigger and stronger, IN ALL AREAS, leg day is a must. When you do a squat or a deadlift, you are activating by far, more muscles then any other lift. There are so many muscle components working in a squat, slow twitch, fast twitch, skeletal muscle, your entire core. It speaks for itself as to how important they are. I would rather brag about my 34" quads than I would my dick size...........3.5" isnt much to brag about anyways.......

Your twin turbo GOAT is like having 4-18in dicks.......you've got plenty to brag about buddy!!

That took ballz to admit. With that said a true weightlifter exercises every major muscle. If your telling us you can't deal with muscle soreness you don't belong in a gym. I don't have respect for cheaters so man up and hit those legs!

same for me man, I work 60+ hrs a week, very physical that's why I do total body now. squats, chest, back 3x a week, dead lift, bys and tri once a week, I don't have the time or energy to do the kind of work outs I used to, but it still works and my legs don't get that sore anymore, but since you haven't worked then in a year I'm sure you'll get sore at first

Yeah I'm gonna be sore for sure. Most likely even get muslce cramps. I remember it felt good to stand in a squat rack looking in a mirror seeing yourself with a 315lbs.

I was worn-out, university and full time job isn't easy when you gotta fully support yourself. Sleeping 3-4 hours a nigh, last thing you need is the sore wheels for 10 hour work shift, so I had to choose.

But now that school is over, I can get back to it. Gonna hit them on Saturday's starting today, since i'm off on sunday, hopefully that would make things easier.

Lol it takes a handful of leg workouts to get over severe leg DOMS....it will still happen occasionally but not as severe as when you first start training a muscle.

Time to man up IMO
