Question about spices and additives.

Ok while trying to revamp my eating habits im also trying to see whats ok and whats not.

Like can i use equal on my oats? what about in my iced tea?

That fake butter flavoring? it says no fat but its got some kind of liquid carrier to hold the artificial flavoring, is it ok? Are there any types of things i should avoid or try to keep down? obviously sodium will retain water (and possibly raise blood pressure) but does it have any ancillary issues like slow down in metabolism?

Also, are there any sauces that are ok? you can only make steak, chicken and fish so many ways lol.

Thanks

Good
Mrs. Dash
Franks Red Hot
Slenda
Cinnimon
sugar free ketchup

Just a few that I can think of.....

Salt = bad

Fake butter flavoring = very bad lol!!!!

fake butter flavoring??

leave the taste buds at the door.. sugar alcohols like equal and splenda are okay in moderation..

i actually learned to love my tea without sugar.. or sweetener...

With artificial sweeteners it's an individual experience. I can handle them all spendidly except for sugar alcohols which essential acts as a laxative. However I have no problem with the rest and I don't even mind the laxative effect. I use spices, sweeteners, and flavored butter buds.

Taking this a little further. What about fat free miracle whip for tuna? or fat free mayo (if they even make such a thing). How about pickles? fat free salad dressings? not so much for salad but for on a sandwich or on chicken breast?

BTW: Thanks for all the responses!
