I buy ephedrine with no problems......and yes gear is legal for personal use.

It's illegal to sell "Fat burners", basically anything labelled and marketed as a fat burner has to be ephedrine free. You can buy Ephedrine HCL very cheap. I think this is very good restriction. If you don't know what ephedrine is, you won't buy it.
About Steroids, they are illegal to distribute and Import, but they are not illegal to possess for personal use.
Personal use is really up to the court's discretion.
I have talked to some cops about UG gear, and they know quite a bit about the scene..lol
They said it doesn't matter to them, hell they use it, but they will go after a lab if they come out with shitty/dirty products.
Most guys get popped for other drugs and they happen to be dealing steroids as well so they get an additional charge.

From what I heard selling PURE ephedrine is illegal now, however you can easily buy ephedrine that's mixed other drugs like caffeine for example.
deltoid is right. It was banned because ephedrine was imported to US where it was used to produce recreational drugs like ecstasy.
Its illegal to posses large amounts of juice in Canada, personal amount is fine. Steroids take the last place on the RCMP's drug list. Most cops don't give a shit. A friend of mine got pulled over with 1000 Russian dbols. The cop just took it, no charge, no fine.. must've sold it to his buddies at the gym.. lol
What the Canadian government is really concerned about is contaminated underground gear. The kinda shit that sends guys to hospitals with infections.
