Question for VET BB'ers NOT powerlifters....

Regarding training:

How many SETS are you finding most success doing per body Part???

It seems like I FINALLY realized that I have been SLIGHTLY OVER-TRAINING.

I have made the following changes and I feel pretty GOOD about them:

Large Body Parts: I NOW do 10 sets of 5-10 reps (this does NOT include LIGHT1-2 warm-up sets)

Smaller Body Parts: I NOW do 7 sets of 5-10 reps (this does NOT include LIGHT1-2 warm-up sets)

Comments welcome!!!

Thanks

If you are doing 10 sets per excercise you are still overtraining. For example, on chest day I usually do 3 or 4 excercises with 4 sets per excercise.

I usually do flat-bench 5 sets (1 is warmup), then 4 real sets. Then I do 4 sets of cable crossovers, then move on to 4 sets of weighted dips. If I do 4 sets and feel like I still have a little left in me I might do another.

Thats a lot of reps in MO.What does your split look like.?How many days are you training as well?

I think he means 10 total sets.....

I asked Bodyfx about this at Nicholls board (he's a total guru) and he said for natural lifters, large bodyparts needed no more than 10 total sets and smaller ones needed no more than 7, so seems you're right on. If you're 'on' obviously you can add a couple more to each and be fine.

He's a mod at MuscleMayhem.com Chad Nicholls board, who trains the likes of Coleman, Gunter, Nasser, etc. Tom Prince posts there, and several other pro's. Body is a good guy and answers a lot of questions, he's a guru and makes that board even better than anyone thought it could be....

Depends, for example I get blown up with 12-14 sets on legs but on back I can get 20-24 sets, because I don't gt a pump but little body parts I get 8-10 sets or even less sometimes. Chest I get 15 sets in on chest.
