question regarding a doc in the family...

Hey guys, first time poster. My brother in law is an MD who's more than happy to write perscriptions to people he trusts won't abuse the privalege. I was on TRT out of a wellness clinic in Miami this past winter and was thrilled with the results. Unfortunately my wallet wasnt and I fell on some hard times and have been off it for a couple months now. My question is, instead of going thru a clinic or a middleman looking to profit, is T something my doctor brother-in-law can prescribe, and can I get it at a pharmacy just like any other scrip? Im well versed in getting my levels checked, how to read the results and what my dosages are and how to administer the treatment, I was just thinking I could possibly save myself a bunch of dough and not pay the clinic for something I can do myself...Thanx guys, and LOVE this forum by the way. I've read thru em all and this one is truely the best...

I did. And I apologize if that was a loaded question. I've never posted in a forum, i didn't realize. The last thing I want to do is make anyone angry...He said he had no problem with it if he could help, but he wanted to do some reading up first. He's like any other regular doc. It's not like he specializes or has done tons of research on the subject. I was just hoping to get some info while I wait for him to do his research from some knowlegable people. Again, if thats too "loaded" you can tell me to f-off. No hard feelings...

My little brother is a pediatrician and my Dad was too.

I asked my brother to recommend someone and as a professional, he sent me to a urologist. I work with him because he is competent and knowledgeable.

Getting scripts or where you get them filled is really irrelevant. You need to have someone in your corner who can address the issues and concerns of a patient on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). As you will learn, they are complex and multifaceted.

If your brother-in-law is not versed in Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), you may want to find someone else with whom to work.

This is just my opinion and in no way a jab at your brother-in-law and his competence as a physician, but I WOULD NOT have a high level of confidence when one tells me they will "read up" on it and I am proposing to turn over my health and well-being to that individual.

What i always seem to come across, read of, or hear about, in any of these "like" situations, is the same common denominator..... Test. No one ever seems to post the question, "hmmm, i wonder if my brother-in-law will script me an entire therapeutic hrt/trt protocol complete with Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), Aromatase inhibitor (AI), test, and proper dosing information/schedules, blood work, and have the practical experience from personal use to know how to keep me "dialed in". I don't seem to read those types of posts very often.
