Recently started TRT - Estrogen issue?

Hi all,

39y/o
On Androgel for about a month but didn't care for the daily application and I have kid's/wife... Switched to injections.

200 Test C every 2 weeks

I'm on my second shot of Test C and am having libido/erection issues. I can start to have sex but get really soft or lose the erection entirely. The funny thing is that it only happens for the first few days after getting the injection. After that, I feel pretty good with no libido/erection issues.

I've done plenty of reading on the boards. My first conclusion based on this reading is that I need to see if I can get the doc to inject once a week. My second conclusion that I wanted to run by the group is:

Do you think my estrogen is out of whack for the first few days due to the Test spike? Should I investigate finding/taking an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) for a few days around the injection day? I'm thinking ahead as I don't think my doc will support weekly shots or Aromatase inhibitor (AI) drugs.

Also, since I don't really have any other estrogen symptoms, will an OTC like TRIAZOLE be sufficient? If not, what would be the protocol for a "research" product in my situation?

Appreciate the help,
Mack

I doubt your estrogen is high with that dose. Is he giving you the shots or are you taking them yourself? If you are, then shoot 100mg weekly, that would be better. I don't really care for dosages that low. You need to find a doc that will let you have 200mg weekly. As for the erection problem, your test levels might be low, I know cases where the gel lowered peoples test levels. Give it a couple weeks.

Test e/c takes a couple days to peak, its more likely due to low test levels from only pinning once every 2 weeks

For some, TRT hurts rather than helps Libido

Twice now I have started testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and both times my already low libido and erection ability dropped to zero within days of my first pin and for me my E2 levels don't matter. If you do a Google search on "no libido on TRT" you will see that it happens more often than one would think.

I sincerely hope you have better results than I have had!

Why do you say your e2 levels don't matter?

I know they do for most people, but they don't seem to matter for me. My E2 is normally right around 32-33 with no Aromatase inhibitor (AI), and with 1/4 Anastrozol a week, it drops to like 15. I can feel no difference between my E2 at 15 and my E2 at 34.

Well what is happening is, when you inject, your natural is being shut down immediately and that will lower your levels even more. It can take up to 4 weeks for your levels to peak.

Thanks for the info! I see the doc on the 18th and plan to go after weekly self injections as opposed to every two at the office. Wish me luck.
