Shattered

I have been training for 12months hard and have had gains I thought not possible.Developing a disciplined routine and strict diet,(thanx to reading every thread ever posted on every forum, to save timewasting questions and meaningless threads), I had focus and a pure goal. This was until I was hit by a driver that ran a light at an intersection. This happened a day before the big plunge into my first cycle.
My moral has dissipated and depression has set in. I have a broken collarbone and many other injuries to boot. Can't stop thinkin about the gym and the thought of 10 weeks off after my long journey to where I am now. Guess what I'm asking is........Where do I go from Here?

hang in there mate. Try and keep on top of your diet whilst you are out of the gym. Your body is going to need heaps of good fuel to help you recover.

Are you able to still train legs, or even do some simple cardio. The more active you can keep during this time off, the quicker your recovery will be, and the less size/strength you will lose.

Shift your focus onto your rehab. Small steps will get you better sooner rather than later.

good luck and I wish you a speedy recovery

i have been there,,,, i was out for longer than that with a broken back and 4 broken ribs. it will all be ok i promise,,,, if i were you, i would work on the lower half with whatever exercises you can while in transition. maybe some legs extensions and leg curls, seated calves,, things like that.

inked1 hit it on the head- you HAVE to stay as active as possible to keep circulation to the injured areas and promote healing. and trust me, again and i understand how you feel. 99% of this is mental. i was in a car accident in 2001 and basically broke my neck. i fractured my c-4 vertebrae and was told i would never walk again without assistance. not only did i go on to compete for 4 years in bb'ing and figure shows, but i am also a competitive powerlifter. if i had listened to the doctors i wouldve given up the first day. instead i opted for intense rehab and i walked out of the hospital on my own. i know it is a cliche, but dammit it's the truth- what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!
PM me if you need to vent. Best of luck to you and your rehab.

Hang in the there and concentrate on getting better...that is your goal now. Your looking at it like its the end but it's only a delay...you will bounce back and then some.

10 weeks off is nothing. In a year, you are going to be much stronger than you were before that car hit you.

Try and enjoy your time off, because I know you are going to kick your own ass after you get back in the gym.

Thanyou for the moral!

I needed that! Thanyoy to all that responded. I am at a point where everytime I move something inside clicks and it hurts bad> I realise that this will pass and all that will become of this torment will be pure drive and a determination to get better. I gotta say that you don't know your true grit til you have been as low as you can go and cliche's are that for a reason.....
cause they wreak of truth! Thanx again and keep moving weight!
Ps Found out today the other driver was drunk.

Good to hear your feeling better. Now take it slow and recover....and then go balls to the wall!!!!
