I think im getting these it hurts when i run and when i squat its like right below my knee cap and goes down about 3/4 of my shin i have this on both legs and have never had these before. what do i do?

find a massage therapist who does myofascial release. The massage will be somewhat painful but within a few sessions you should find some relief.

If it hurts right below your kneecap, then that's your patella tendon.

Stay away from hack squats!

Yup.

I dunno why you'd be having pain 3/4 of the length of your lower leg, but the pain just below the knee joint would suggest patellar tendonitis rather than shin splints.

But if you do have shin splints, my advice (if you don't want to go the massge route) is to just sit out a week and not run, or do anything heavy on your legs... Worked for me

I have only got shin splints when I've had to do a lot of running, which I'm not accustomed to since I don't like it (back injury).

Anyway, if you are forced to run (like for sports or whatever), you can tape your lower legs and it will help a bit, but you can't do it too loose or too tight.

Also, for long run help, you need to strengthen the muscles that run in front of your tibia (lower leg).

Some gyms have equipment to do it, resistance is on the front of your foot and you lift your toes up.

i hadnt worked outin a while or ran, and one day i decided too, well i went balls to the walls, and boom, couldnt even walk to class, u have to becareful, try treadmills or cardio machines, less impact, take a look at TONY LITTLE"S GAZELLE FREESTYLE ELITE, lol, jk

yeah, I would stay away from anything too stressful on your knees (like I said earlier), but if you absolutely have to, I'd say go on the elliptical..
