Started in July with the pyramid scheme every body part on separate days except bis and tris on same day. At some point I platued and with the help of zilla thread of knowledge, other threads, Ben PakulskI you tube instruction I've been making decent gains working with less weight more reps and as close to perfect form as I can get.

I know you hit bis with back and tris with chest as secondary but should I change my plan to incorporate hitting body parts twice a week To maximize growth or am I over thinking this?

Thanks

I feel I only grow if I hit each body part twice a week. I tried the reverse pyramid as well and switched back to a twice a week routine.

Chest, tri's, shoulders
Back, bi's, traps
Legs, calves
Repeat

Sometimes I'll vary the workout on secomd day of the week. Maybe heavy first day, a little lighter with dumbbells second. Or even add in different movements on second day. Just kind of play it a little to how my body feels.

So you try and do different exercises for that part?

Like switching from dumbells to barebells, from cable machines to hammer strength machines?

I suck at the typing on my phone but: Monday chest I'd do barbell using the squat rack that's on a sllide/guide so I can go heavy. That's a smith machine right? Then Thursday chest I'd use dumbbells but let my soreness decide how heavy to go with it usually still being a heavy day cause I love working chest. All exercises were 3 or 4 of 10. Not that I went lighter for more reps.

Shoulder first day I'd use the smith machine for shoulder press. Thursday I'd use dumbbells and do arnold press.

Back day was always heavy but I'd change up a little. First day bent over wide grip rows, second day bent over v-bar rows.
Shrugs I'd do a narrow front grip day one and dumbbells at my side day two.

Those were only the basic moves. Of course there were many other exercises involved. I just hit the movements that I'd change up. I can type out my whole workout for your review if you'd like. In fact, I think I have it saved somewhere from when I sent it to 3J.

I sent that workout to you. I change my routine avery few months but that was what I was doing before some friends convinced me to start working out with them. I'll give them a month and if I don't like theirs, I'll go back to what I sent you. As of this week I'm on one body part a week following their workout. I already don't like it but will try to give it a month.

Just curious, you train 6 days in a row?

I either train 6 days or on Friday I do my workout in the morning then hit the gym again at lunch to finish the week's workout.

Another alternative is I only hit legs once a week. I don't like that alternative because my legs are twigs and need work. But I also hate working them so there's the struggle.
