Should I stay on testim? Or switch to injections.

Hey guys, was diagnosed with secondary hypogonadism about a month ago, TT was 218, LH was 1.0, E2 was 28. Got put on androgel 1.62%, 4 pumps daily, that got my TT to 163. Ditched the androgel and switched to testim at 2 tubes per day. Been on that for a few weeks.

Just got bloods a few days ago. The bloods were drawn about 1-2 hours after application. To my surprise, my TT was 1073 and my estradiol was 27. Sounds perfect right? However, I feel no different. No random boners, morning wood once in a while, energy isn't great, libido isn't great, skin isn't that oily, etc... Before this blood test I was set on switching to injections because I thought I wasn't absorbing the testim. Now i'm so confused and don't know what to do. Should I stay on testim, or switch to test cyp injections?

Most guys tend to prefer injections. Gels/creams don't seem to work well over the long run. They don't seem to keep absorbing equally over time. Plus they are much more expensive than injections. Finally - and this is very important - injections have no risk of transfer to the women and children in your life. If recommend switching to injections.

I am taking all of those things into account; however, I can't get over the fact that my TT was in the thousands on the testim.

You have to remember that it takes time for the testosterone to do its thing. It can take several months to a year or more to see all the positive benefits from the hormone. I personally am on injections as I have a young daughter and wife that I don't want to expose to the hormones. That and gels tend to have less benefit overall as they typically convert to DHT and estradiol faster than injections do.

BTW, my SHBG was 13 on a ref range of 10-50. Could that be the problem?
