Shoulder injury need input

Hi I recently injured my shoulder and was wondering if anyone else have had the same injury and what they did to treat it. My shoulder hurts when I try to cross my arm in front of my chest(in boxing , right cross/hook). It also hurts when I put it behind my back. The area is exactly where the pointy bone at the top of your shoulder where it meets your collorbone. It hurts right in front of the bone and burns(in the dip). Some days its bad , others it not as bad but its very difficult to do any pushing exercises, chest, shoulder(of course, lol). I stayed off the weights for about 2 weeks and slowly tried to come back with light weights but it was still injured. Any suggestions what it is and what I could do to heal it? Any supps? MSM? I hate sitting around not being able to do anything! I would really appreciate the help.......thanks....

You should start with 6 grams of fish oil per day. This will help with the inflamation and help it heal quicker. It will also keep your joints lubricated better and help prevent future injuries.

Sounds like what I had happen. Hate to say it but i've been healing for over a year now. Start doing rotator cuff work. My doctor told me my rotator cuff was'nt as developed as the front heads of my delts. I could see it but I did'nt realize it was the cause for the problem. Basically either consult a trainer in person or look up some exercises online. Pictures and propper technique are KEY with rotator cuff work. Another thing is to target the rear and outter heads of your delts. This will help out dramatically also. I've put about 2.5 inches on my shoulders in about 8 months now and it is helping out with all my "pushing" exercises. Deffinatly take it easy on it for now though. If its the first time it's started hurting you may not have messed it up that bad. Just watch it and talk to a professional who can examine the injury. GOOD LUCK!

Ibuprofen works well for the nagging pain and inflammation. Also, you may want to start doing a pre work out and warm up for your rotator cuffs.

I had a rear shoulder injury about a month ago. I had to go to therapy and all that. Try stretching the injured shoulder and do a light cable cross with your elbow stationary at your side and pulling the cable across your midsection. Do this inward and outwards. As for the top of your cuff try laying on a binch or floor at home using 2 to 4# db with your arm in front of you or like your flying, raise the weight 3 to 5 in.. Try this for 3 sets of 15 rep.

I hope this helps. time and light weight therapy, good diet, rest is the best. lat.

thanks

Thanks guys! Yea it sounds like a cuff injury. I looked online and there are some exercises I can do. Light weight, more reps. I guess I'll have to go light on everything for a while, lol...Oh well back to the drawing board. Thanks again....
