Hey guys has anyone had a muscle pain that just won't go Away. Its not terrible but its a slight pain and just dont feel right. Its in my right shoulder and it cause that arm to lag In Certain exercises. Such as bench. Incline bench, and a few others. Any suggestions would help. Plz its real irritating and holding me behind.

cyto,

Had the same problem from a rings exercise tear. Months after had a lot of problems, especially with BB chest exercises. The worst was flat bench. Switched to DB for chest, and used the Smith machine (heresy I know) for heavy bench press. Also did a lot of rotator cuff exercises (cables and light DB) saw a big improvement in my overall shoulder strength with the cuff exercises and am back to BB chest.

After the initial injury I took off about 4 weeks from lifting-shoulder pain was bad. Focused on diet and running. Did lots of rotators to get the inner shoulder strength back and then started my cycle once I felt good. Took 3-4 months to get back to where I was pre-injury. 6 weeks into my test/deca/dbol cycle I was hitting bench making PR's then the pain started half way through chest day. Switched to the above listed routine and continued to make great gains, just not with a BB. Shoulder's much better but I can tell it will be one of those life long nagging pains if not treated right. Now I only do BB chest on power day (bench press, dead lift, squats) Hope that helps.

cytogaines_only,

I was thinking a RC inflammation too. If you are doing any behind the head presses, cut them out all together.

Doublelung,

Good advice on cutting out the behind the head presses. I'd also recommend light Arnold presses with the rotator cuff exercises. I've read Deca lubricates the joints and it possibly did at first as I had great gains with little to no pain but then 6 weeks in my shoulder injury really flared up. Of course I didn't want to take extra days off while on cycle but it was getting to where I had to stop my chest workouts. Made some adjustments (as stated above cut out BB chest) and it got better. Don't think the Deca "healed" my injury but may have helped with oiling the joints initially

Take care of that...shoulder s are very complicated and very very subject to overuse as they anchor somany movements.

I tore a shoulder where the bi seats under the front delt from a bad spotter.....last August and yesterday was the first time Iwas able in 9 months to rep 225 on icline...took that long to get right. Still can not do flat bench or flyes with any real weight. Patience please.

There is some good advice here. I'd also like to add in try using a hammer/ neutral grip (palms facing your body) when working with dumbbells on chest day. Also, sometimes shoulder irritation can be caused by doing too much pushing (ie. benching) and not enough pulling (i.e. rows, chin-ups) although this is only something I have read and not to a great extent. If though your program/workouts contain this kind of set-up then maybe some food for thought.

Either way good luck with recovery, with myself included there are a number of guys on here that understand how frustrating it can be to come back from injuries. Keep your head up and realize its not going to get better tomorrow.

Hi, sorry to disappoint you but I have never faced such problem. I am also thinking that your shoulder is paining due to excessive stretch. You should see some nice chiropractor, for more details visit this site.
