so a cop knocks on my door at 1am w a box of gear

i know this is in the wrong forum but i want to get as many ops as possible. last monday a cop knocked on my door at 1am holding an opened box containing several vials of varying gear. it was a pack i had been expecting. the neighbors had found it opened under their back porch so the called the cops. the pack had my address on it so the cop comes to my house. he asks me a thousand questions, asks if i take gear, i play dumb. doesn't help i'm now around 260 and the cop looked like he lifted and he wasn't dumb. now i still had a whole box full of shit in the house so after cop leaves i take all that and my computer and put it in my girlfriends car and had her take it to her house. now i'm just sitting here freaking out wondering if i'm fucked or what. someone came on my porch and took my pack, opened it, saw what was in it, and for some reason left it under some random porch. they can't tie that particular pack to me since it was already opened but i'm wondering if they'll come back with a warrant and sieze my computer(which i just brought back tonight) and go through old emails and all that shit and connect me and then i'm fucked. what do you guys think? do you think they will pursue this and try and catch me up or just let it go? would love to find the jerk off that got into my shit, lost about $400 in gear.

Keep everything out of your house including your computer. If they can't find any gear and have nothing to tie you to it I think you will be ok.

Never have gear delivered to your home again, incase your address is now flagged. Don't be stupid. Keep your house clean for a good while. It just isn't worth the potential risk.

Microsoft recently released Microsoft Private Folder 1.0, but then they reverted after corporte customers complained. Get a copy at http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Lockdown/Microsoft-Private-Folder.shtml or elsewhere. Install it and secure the folder with a good password that you can remember and not have to write down or whatever.

You shouldn't discuss Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) in email outside of secure email, like hushmail. Save any Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) emails in your non-secure email account that you want into the private folder and delete them.

Really, you'd be best to reformat your hard drive and start over, but I'm guessing you aren't going to do that.

Oh yeah, the police department might have sent your gear away for testing. That can take a while, so just because you don't see them soon doesn't mean that they won't come back. Don't get too comfortable.

thanks for the replies. i live in a university town in midwest, pretty straightforward place. i have no problem reformatting my harddrive, i've got wipedrive and don't mind at all erasing entire hard drive. but can't they still track my internet activity and go through servers and shit and find out what they need? all emails discussing gear have been through cyber-rights. i've been doing this for awhile and have been so extremely careful. pisses me off to no end that some dickhead going through my mail destroyed all of that. again, i will wipe harddrive but can't they still track emails, discussion board activity from the past etc. ?

The box was open and wasn't found at your house. They don't have much of a case. Still, I'd be extra cautious. I would not have anything more sent to your house. Find a domestic source or perhaps set up a PO box. You looking 260lbs will immediately make you look suspicious.

yeah, i'll never again have anything sent here. after this cycle, which has only 3 weeks left, i'm off till at least january anyway. but i'll do future ordering at libraries and shit and won't have anything sent here. the cop knew it was mine. he looked straight at me and told me that. at 6'2 and 260 with low bf i couldn't really escape it. not stroking my dick saying wow look at my stats i'm just saying that appearance certainly didn't help my cause. i can absolutely deal with not having gear at the house or anything like that, but would hate to lose my computer. i got school shit to do on it and generally enjoy having it around for music, email, etc. so if i can find a way to keep the comp. without worrying then i'll consider this a wake up call and move on.

My friend, that sucks. A couple of things to consider. Wiping the drive is useless, forenscis tools will recover most available wipe software tools. You need to destroy the drive. Sand an a huge hammer will always work, then burn it. Sorry man, you have to. Second, as far as the emails you sent, they would have to get a court order to have them produced by the ISP ( internet service provider) and if your source is smart, he keeps no records. Either way, the pack was found by the cop open, so they only have enough to harrass the crap out of you. They may get a warrant to do a search, get ride of everything, and be thourough. If they find nothing, case closed, they wont have enough to go further throw the courts. Dude, if you dont destroy that harddrive, you will regret it when they take your pc. Get a new one in it and have it used, let them take that one. Good luck.

My dad helped me with gear once and I've had a source send gear to him. It got caught. My dad is a 63 year old fat guy and when he said he didn't know what was going on, they immediately believed it. Lost the gear but no further problems whatsoever.

It is safer to encrypt, i agree. Unfortunatly there are master keys and are used all the time in cases. Encryption is pretty much useless with Law Enforcement. Destroy the drive.

With the pack found open at another residence they do not have enough probable cause to get a search warrant.
Expect your address to be flagged, but unless you are messing with rec drugs also, I doubt you will ever hear from them again.

local cops aren't going to spend several thousand dollars to reconstruct a wiped drive over a case of personal use steroids. The only reason a cop even dropped by in the first place was in the event that the guy who's address was on the box happened to be a dumbass and admit to ordering schedule III drugs without a prescription. Unless you had a major shipment that got seized (which it doesn't sound like by the $400 comment), then you don't really have anything to worry about. Keep in mind that the war on drugs is a money game, and there's very little money in the consumer end.
