I'm trying to decide between the 5x5 or IA's modified wsb workout. I'm 30, 235lbs., 6'3" and (according to the Navy's neck/waist meas.) 22% bf. been working out more or less since high school. My problem is, despite gaining overall weight through the years, I've never been able to make a body recomposition.
I don't know if it's diet, or training; probably both. I can just never get any definition. I've been doing 30 minutes to an hour of low cardio for the last two months, and tried to cutout almost all rice, potatoes, bread, etc and still don't see a change. I'm hoping one of these routines will help.
Right now I eat all meals on the ship, my diet is roughly:
Bkfst: Scrambled eggs (probably about 3 or 4), 1 potato triangle, some fruit, usually melon or cantaloupe.
Lunch: 2 servings of whatever meat the galley is serving, a little rice or pasta, small salad of lettuce, cucumber, bell pepper, cheese, croutons, and ranch dressing.
Dinner: 2 servings again, + salad again.
I also usually get in a shake or two.
Been lifting kind of hst'ish 3 days a week, + running or walking 3-4 days a week for 30-60 minutes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
