sore wrist

just recently appeared to strain the outside of my right wrist after a curl day about a week a go. it had been gradually getting worse and now, man i can't put any strain on it without it really hurting. just curious if anyone else has ever experienced a bad wrist strain on the outside part of wrist only and how long it took for them to get back to normal. obviously, i've been icing and not doing any exercises to piss it off, but still sore and weak. thanx!!
 
Does the pain intensify when you move your hand upwards? And does it decrease when you put it down again?

I had the same pain in my wrist after some shoudler exercises. The pain increased in de days after the injury but gradually lessened....so I thought I could continue training. Every time I put strain on the wrist It hurt like hell.

It turned out that the pain in my wrist was caused by a dislodged handbone. After some therapy (2 sessions) the bone was back in place again.

The advice given to me was that (after the bone was reset!!!) to use a securing wristband for a couple of weeks. During that time I should gradually loosen the band after each workout...so that the bone could settle into place and the bands in your hand that keep the bones where they should be could resettle themselves.

My advice is not to wait but to see a doctor or someone with medical knowledge. Waiting can prolong the ain and the problem, making recovery a long term process.

did you strain or sprain your wrist theres a difference a strain is all muscle and a sprain is ligamentous. I would keep icing and maybe try taping up your wrists it will help stabilize the area and take the pressure off your muscles and ligaments that are trying to keep it stabile. There are tons of fibers that run through the wrist it could be a combination of things, if the problem persists and doesn't seem like its getting any better get an x-ray see a doctor becuase you don't want to make it any worse than it is. hope this helps

You might need some Glucosomine i get the same pain on my right wrist...do you by any chance have a office job or spend alot of time on a pc or have in the past?
 
there is alot going on in the wrist, with all the tendons and ligaments to move the hand in all it's various directions......i would follow the advice of the other posters advising medical attention.
