spotting

why is it so many guys take the wieght away for you I was donig 260 today and it almost felt lighter that the 225 I was donig with out a spotter.

makes me mad sometimes cause it's so hard ot find a good spotter
 
power racks bro i hate spotters because they give you a false reality of weight i put up 315 a month ago but that was b/c i had a spotter... now i set the power racks at chest level and i put the handles on the stand and do regular bench press, and squats w/o a spotter b/c i know if i get stuck i can let it fall without getting pinned under the weight
 
i F*** hate that too..i lift alone but always use a spotter when i need one..most of the time i tell them im shooting for x reps it should be easy dont touch te bar..sometimes i forget lol...its best to expalin to tem how you want to be spotted..if its heavy weight tell them to keep their hands close to the bar but DONT touch it..lol also some people are afraid and dont know how to spot properly
 
Usually when they go to grab the bar I tell them, "I got it" unless I feel like I need them to grab the bar.

if you put up 315 because of your spotter that means "you" did not put up 315 lol i can totally tell when under a heavy load and someone is giving too much of a spot :wink2:
 
i don't know whether some guys think that because i'm female they should help me or not let me struggle, but if i'm not with my regular workout partner, i'm VERY specific about what i want.
i'll tell them to hand off then DO NOT TOUCH it till i say help or its on my neck. if i dont know for sure that they understand, i'll tell thim i don't even want your fingertips near it till you hear me say HELP.
even then, they sometimes grab it too early.
grrr.
then i kick them.
 
I give what amounts to a seminar before i have to use someone who never spotted me. My biggest problem is shorter people who hand the bar off over under when i am going heavy. Than the weight has to be balanced because it is handed off so uneven.

thats what it feels like i'm doing too. i feel like such a bitch- the guy is usually standing there like "yeah, i know how to spot, bitch" but i want to say just shut up and listen cause you better do it right!
 
thats where regular training partners come in , everyone knows what each other wants and what to look for if one of us is struggleing . a good spotter on bench is essential but a good back spotter when squatting can be a lifesaver as well

I always train alone, but when I do need a spot I literally yell sometimes at the person if there hand even goes near the bar before I need it. It sux. I need a good training partner. Even when I train with the woman, she'll sometimes grab it too much... wait... waht were we talking about again?

yeah u know they person is taking weight away when 260 feels like 185....lol

my usualy spotter a tirnaer at the gym wasn' t there he make me fight for it and only touces the bar if Im' gonna hit the j hooks. wich I'm slwoly worknig on but i seem to push back a bit with heavy weight (for me).
