SP's on/off-season log

Weight 219

Weight..whatever...evening workout but seriously damn. I drove to the gym (snowstorm conditions) in my girlfriend's truck. Heading home, a cabbie had missed his turn and was going the wrong way on the wrong side of a median so he decided to BACK ONTO the main road in front of me, I slammed on the brakes etc but ended up hitting him anyways...FUCKING CHRIST

It's his fault, his insurance SHOULD cover it but still..you have to be fucking kidding me. I was literally on my way to talk to ms. SP's father about if he'd be alright with me marrying his daughter then some fucking asshole decides we should have a fender bender in her goddamn truck.

Thu - fullbody workout - 8-12 reps
10min cardio warmup
cross-body DB hammer curl - four sets
oblique side bends - four sets
smith behind-the-neck press - three sets, end with strip set
smith shrugs - four sets behind-the-back
ATG barbell squat - three sets
seated row - two sets

I honestly don't know how you're so unlucky with cars. I've never heard of this shit happening

Good luck on the trip man, I hope it all goes well!
Can't wait to hear the news when you're back

So, in Mexico...lots of walking, about 3 full body workouts (out of 5 days) and a few fasted cardio sessions. One on the beach even-really nice.

One weigh-in, Sunday at Golds' gym - 213 non fasted in my regular workout gear.

This morning, forgot to weigh myself at home but went to a new gym and they didn't seem to have a scale..? Wtf lol.

Wed - delts - 10-12 reps
Internal/external shoulder rotation - three sets
Hanging leg raise - four sets
Seated DB press - warmup then three dropsets
Lateral DB raise - three dropsets
Rear delt cable pull apart - three dropsets
Lying leg raise - three sets
Front barbell raise - three sets
Smith shrug - in front - three sets

So anyways, a quick recap of Mexico:

We had a really good time, went kayaking, snorkeling and even made it to the local Golds' for a workout as well as some "ok" full body shit at the shitty fitness centre in our resort.

And the engagement part worked out fairly well...on monday we woke up and caught a boat to las (los?) caletas, went kayak/snorkeling then took the boat back to our hotel...then i told her that I'd booked us on the rhythms of the night tour (to the same island) so we got BACK on the boat, headed out there, watched the show...kind of a ballet/musical thing choreographed by someone related to/associated with the cirque de soleil so it was really well done and quite neat ( Rhythms of the Night by Vallarta Adventures Reviews - Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco Attractions - TripAdvisor )...then after the show, we had a private-ish table on the beach..all candle lit and a guitar player sereneded us...once he was done I did the one-knee thing, busted out the hardware, asked the question and she said yes :)

PM weight, at the new gym again...I found a scale this time (wasn't that hard I just completely missed it last time; oops)

Thur - legs - 12-15 reps
Cardio warmup
seated leg extension - warmup plus four sets, rest/pause
prone hamstring curl - four dropsets
barbell lunge - three sets
highbar ATG squat - three sets
standing calf raise - three sets
DB SLDL - two sets

Was in a rush but had a great workout for the short time period; almost fell down the stairs on the way out of the gym

Weight 213

Fri - chest - 8-12 reps
Cardio warmup
internal/external shoulder rotation - two sets
hanging leg raise - four sets
flat BB bench - warmup then three strip/dropsets
incline DB press - three sets
chest dips - two sets
cable flyes - two sets...the inside of my elbows and forearms were just killing me, ended up cutting the workout kind of short...

AM/PostWO Cardio:
25min LISS - track/walking (checking out the new gym still)

Not sure if trying out suicide grip on flat bench is responsible for the arm soreness; but it's really weird...especially on a push day I can't figure it out

Thanks buddy. We're very happy; I'm dealing with all the other BS...hey at least I get to go car shopping lol

Definitely! Every cloud hey!

Any ideas what you'd like?

Honestly I liked my car, so I've been looking at similar ones (even within the same year range, but also a little newer) - due to all the spending on engagement ring + trip to mexico, dentistry etc; my price range to pay cash is less than $15k (without selling one of the ducatis) and if I'm financing I can do something in the 25-35 range but I really don't like the thought of financing something depreciable =\

I really want AWD, but I would settle for RWD if it was a great deal on the car (thinking a cheap/used G35 for 5k or something like that) - prefer manual trans but would settle for auto, prefer hatch but will definitely settle for sedan/notchback, prefer four door (since I'm looking at sedans not sports cars) but would be ok with two door again if it was a great price or pretty cool/fast car (if I randomly spotted a cheap camaro, a/s5, etc)

All that being said; in no particular order I was looking at:

audi a/s4, a6...
subaru STi, WRX and even legacy...
lexus is250 (awd preferably)
volvo s40 t5
infiniti g35/37
acura tl (awd ofc)
saab ? haven't found any I like...

As much as I lust after an e30 m3 I've kind of shied away from beemers and mercedes in this search. I don't have any issues with domestics but none really fit my criteria (mid-size, AWD, at least 'moderately' performance-oriented)

PM weight/workout...brought my fiance (!) with me and she actually has expressed interest in doing some weights (usually she prefers to stick to cardio and yoga) so I showed her a few more exercises; pretty cool that she's at least being more open-minded about it.

Tough to break that stigma that girls will get bulky if they lift...

Trying to get back in gear post-mexico lol; I had some cheesecake AND icecream after dinner at her parents' tonight so that will be my final indulgence until xmastime :P

Out of those listed... I'd have the Audi S4 every day of the week buddy... nice little shortlist though!

Unfortunately I'm stuck with my Ford Transit Van due to work requirements!

One can dream though :)
