Starting Over After An Accident

Hey. I'm getting back into lifting after a motorcycle accident had me down for almost a year. Before the accident, I mostly did heavy free weights and swam for cardio. I'm now using the machines and the stationary bike for cardio.30 minutes a day, 6 days a week for weights and 15 minutes a day, 6 days a week for cardio. I don't wanna get super bulky again, just tone up what turned to fat recovering.
I'm 5'10" 200 and my bodyfat is 20.5%. Can you guys point me in the right direction?

Not knowing the extent of your injuries and from what you stated I have to ask why is your training time so short every day? If you are looking to lose some weight I would add some time to the cardio. 15 mins isn't going to do much in terms of weight loss unless your hindered by your previous injury.

ah.... the famous "tone" word.
i want you to think about what that means.. you want to gain muscle and lose fat, correct?
by 'bulky', do you mean gaining muscle without the fat loss?
most people can't easily do both at the same time. beginners can, and you may even qualify for that again, being that you took so much time off.
given that, you don't do much cardio. if fat loss is your goal at the moment, watch your diet, get back into swimming if you can, and drop some pounds while either using machines if thats safer for your injuries or getting a good overall routine and use free weights until you get closer to your ideal weight and then really hit the weights hard while maintaining a good high protien diet.

thanks for your advice ! I am gonna increase my cardio time today to get at least 30 minutes in, and increase my weights to 45 minutes. The swimming is still iffy, but I'm gonna try and start the water aerobics and maybe some light laps. My muscle tone is ok, I guess. No atrophy or anything. Anyway, thanks again!
