Steak Nutrition Info - New York Strip Especially

I'm finding conflicting nutritional data for New York strip steaks. I usually cook them in a pan with a little salt pepper and garlic, no added butter or oill. I also trim all visible fat, and I usually get bone in.

When determining how lean a food is, I usually look at the grams of protein ratio to the grams of fat ratio. I'm seeing everything from 100g pro : 20 g fat which I think is pretty good to 60g pro : 40g fat which would be really bad. I count my calories on myfitness pal and I thought steak was fairly lean but the last nutrition datum scared me away from steaks for a lil while.

Also, what kind of steaks do you like to eat while eating clean?

Any steak I want.
You're never going to get an accurate protein or fat content unless you do send out every individual steak for analysis. Each cut of meat is different so there's no way to say for sure if your 100gP/20gF 60gP/40gF example isn't true. Two NY strips could have vastly different macro compositions.

If it's really bugging you out, estimate high on calories if you're cutting and on the low side if you're bulking.
You could also average the numbers you're seeing for a better gestimate and lets face is, guestimating is all we're really doing by tracking intake anyway.

Thanks man that is sound advice there. I just see some people say they eat steak all the time and I thought it was healthy, and I guess like you say some cuts could be healthy some could not be.

"Healthy" is a misconstrued concept.
The fat content and ultimately the macro composition will vary between cuts of meet, that much is true.
How you use those macros in your diet is really what determines whether a diet is healthy or not.
