Stop Eating After 6:00???

Hey gym rats, I came across an article stating that you shouldn't eat after 6:00. Or maybe meaning 4 hours b4 bedtime. I have found, over the years, there is a big difference between doing what a author or PHD, says versus a gym rat that has actually been in the trenches. Right? I am currently on a very general dec and test cycle, getting ready to do 30mg of dbol daily for 4 weeks. Just curious if this stop eating at 6 is a good thing? Or should I keep putting down the protein after hours? For us grazers, this would be torture, and I want to make sure it has benefits before jumping in.....

There is absolutely no solid evidence for nutrient timing of any kind - its complete broscience. Your overall calories & macros are what matter, not when you eat them - no protein/carb timing, no "insulin manipulation", etc. Also, in the future stick to what the PHD says (Layne Norton, Lyle Mcdonald) not what the bros think.

I agree nit eating after 6 is ridiculous unless your doing intermittent fasting.

So basically what you are saying is that if I eat all 4000 cals in a 50/40/10 macro all for breakfast then not eat again until tomorrows breakfast it will yield the same results as spacing out my cals. A little flawed theory there.

In terms of body composition, yes no difference. In terms of energy, intensity in gym, satiety, etc it depends on the particular individuals response to such a diet and his preferences/lifestyle factors. Tremendous amount of scientific, empirical, and anecdotal evidence showing meal timing has negligible effects on body composition.

if im on and trying to bulk up and my work colleagues say "whoa your eating too much" they get a punch to the head. you wanna build muscle you gotta keep eating. why the fvck would you stop eating after 6. i eat before i go to bed and then get up at 2am and eat again. no carbs. just protein and low fats. always eat man. if someone tells you otherwise, they are trying to make you stay small.

I couldn't disagree with you more. But I also think not eating after 6 is ridiculous. I have my clients eat right before bed.

Isn't that a bit excessive/OCD? Do you set an alarm or just naturally wake up at that time? I sleep like shit as it is so I can't afford to wake up to eat lol.

Please tell me you don't buy into the 'No carbs after Xpm'?

I wouldn't call it OCD, maybe a bit excessive but none the less I have heard people have good results with eating mid-sleep just protein/fats. It's not something I would do on purpose, but I do occasionally.

I admire your dedication, but I believe that's taking it a bit far...

I'd call it OCD if an alarm is set to wake up at 2am to eat. If he just wakes up that time every night out of habit it's a different story and I'd call it excessive but will also further interrupt his sleep patterns for no added benefit. Eating at night has no benefit unless it gets you to your calorie and macro goals.

Why only protein and fat if you do do it? No carbs or A balanced meal?

Because I'd rather a slow digesting protein/fat meal if it's during the night over a energetic carb/protein meal when I plan on sleeping. Don't get me wrong I don't reccomend what he is doing and said it is a bit excessive I would rather like you said get my macros in during the day. But if I wake up hungry and feel like eating, I'l have some protein/fats and go back to sleep.

where i live its around 50 degrees Celsius so im always fully hydrated before i go to bed from drinking so much water throughout the day. i go to bed around 10pm and without fail wake up around 2am for a piss. no alarms i dont got no OCD lol and i also eat carbs before bed. just no carbs in my 2am meal.

It's ridiculous ) It's better not to eat at least 3 hours before sleep. Who goes to sleep at 9? Moreover it's better to reconsider your diet properly avoiding carbohydrated and fats in the evenyning. 6 hours is the last century.

With most guys bulking who already have a decent amount of muscle it would impossible to hit their macros for the day before 6. And also u say stop eating before 6. Some guys work diff hours and shifts so going I bed diff times. U should say no food 4 hours before bed or something. But I think for anybody lifting hard and wanting to put on mass.then it's beneficial to eat again after dinner. If your trying to loose fat then maybe it's another story

I was bulking on 4500 calories. Was pretty easy getting my intake in by 6pm on most days
