If you see visible bruising in the area where it hurts, then it's most likely a full-blown tear. Go to the doctor, in that case. If you don't see visible bruising, then it's most likely a strain or pull. Massage, ice and rest are the appropriate responses in that case.

Supposedly, you hit the peak of soreness 24-48 hours after a workout. So, since you got really sore 2 days after the workout, I'd call it DOMS or just a slight strain. With a tear, you'd be hurting a lot sooner than 2 days after the workout, and you'd be able to see at least a little visible swelling or bruising for a while longer than 2 days, even if it was a deep muscle like the pectoralis minor as opposed to the major. Keep it iced, 20 minutes per time, 4-5 times per day at most, until the pain goes away, and then begin working with heat on it and flexibility. Be sure that it isn't hurting AT ALL before you do chest again, or any movement that stresses the injury, and be absolutely sure that you warm it up well before the next workout, either with stretching or warmup sets.
