Stretch Marks

I've been noticing a lot of stretch marks from the upper right / upper left corners of my chest extending to my ant. delt. Whenever I do chest the stretches seem to get either redder or longer. There's also some on the inside of my bicep.

Anyone else experience this and is there anyway to get rid of it?(ie creams and what not?)
 
Sounds like a friend of mine has the same problem....growth scars? Its a litteral stranslation from Dutch...and I don't know if they are the same as stretch marks. Basically they are caused by the fact that your skin has a hard time adapting to fast growth....either fat or muscle....or both in some cases.

You need to keep your skin elastic so: minerals and vitamine E in your diet help prevent them. Also keeping your skin slightly moist will help...so try lotion/cream. Reducing fat also helps.

I am not sure if they go away...that friend I was talking about has them for a year or two now. The way he looks at it is that he is growing fast so its a good sign.

I guess that unless you are packing on fat rapidly it isn't all that bad.
 
I got em all over. They seem to go away slowly.

Pregnancy cream helps I heard? who cares beach season isnt for a while anyway lol
 
i got em in the same spots man the redness goes away with a little time girls use cocoa butter on their stomachs when pregnant thats supposed to help from gettin them and also tanning helps if u do it consistantly
 
I have only been training around 4+ months and have noticed stretch marks in the corners of my chest where it meets the shoulders... Also on my biceps too. Around 3 or 4 lines each around 2 inches long...

Was a little worried at first, however I love them now that I read about it's a sign of good growth!
 
bro I have the same problem. if you can get a cream called Palmers Cocoa Butter cream for stretch marks go for it, it doesn't necessarily get rid of them , but it hleps fade them off ALOT and has helped me greatly. it's dermatology recommended and its mainly for pregnant girls.
 
I will have a look out for that fella - cheers for the tip... I've noticed them on my quads too after a trip to the toilet just now!!!

I think with me only been training for 4+ months, i hear you grow rapidly during your first couple of months and then all slows down considerably. (So should the stretch marks by all accounts!).

I've been using a vaseline lotion and it's been working pretty good - just started it like 2days ago. It's just freaky how red / how much they stick out sometimes and I don't want to take off my shirt and have people look at me strangely :eyes: .

Thanks for the input, I might actually go out and buy this cuz I also hate the smell of the vaseline lotion I have now anyways. :)
 
I hear ya on the stretch marks. I have them too, in the same areas you mentioned but also pretty long ones on my inner legs (near my crotch) and a little discoloration on my butt. I used to get them, and they would go away within a week, but mine are staying right now because I packed on so much weight this summer. I'm hoping they will diminish when I cut. But what I've heard from most, as some in here have said, that cocoa butter and a tan is the way to go.
