Strong enough for competition?

spiderpig

I'm not a bodybuilder!
EDIT:

Possibly in another few years I would like to compete, lets just talk about deads and squats for now.

I been training 18 months now, only started doing squats proper a few months ago (the first gym i went to had not squat rack)

My Body weight now 91kg.

Deadlift current, 240kg
squat current, 160kg - 170kg not 100% to be honest, not ATG, just parallel

My Goal in another 2-3 years time is:

Deadlift 300kg
Squat - 250kg

I'm looking towards my gains through the 5x5, you think its possible to reach these natural in that time? and what is classed as elite lifting?

I don't compete but a good friend of mine does. I don't know much about the different competitions but he gets tested and is all natty. Maybe there are different competitions for all natural and not so much?? Either way, you are on your way. He deadlifts 560lbs right now and is looking to get his 3rd championship next month so you're on your way for sure.

according to:

American Powerlifting Federation

Qualifying Rankings

Men's Classifications:

i would rank in between class II & III, my 3 lifts would add up to 1190lb so far, only time will get me up them ranks. long way of yet lol I could never be elite, my bench will always suck i just know haha

I'm 6' and 208lbs and he's stronger than me for sure. Dude, powerlifting is heavy duty shit. It's not something I'm working toward but it's one hell of a sport if you have it in you. Just work your chest more, you can do anything you set your mind to.
