Super Squat Workout any success???

my old man was a lifer in the corps so i was born at pendleton and he was at new river when he retired long tinme ago.

Just trying to understand the terminology.

c&j is picking the weight up off the floor and mving it to your sholder area using a front squat motion. then pressing it over head. its a two part movement.

snatch is takingthe weight straight over head then squatting to lockout.

what school did you go through pullinbig, im doin issa as of right now so i was just curious which one you did since your a trainer now. are you private or work at a club? and i stated that i wasnt a older experienced lifter, but i feel im by far not a newbie at it. this might be over kill but on my leg days i like to do quads in the mourning and then do hamstrings and calves at night. i only go twice a day for leg day. and i totaly agree with heavy compound movements, i just am afraid to collapse on squats so thats why i started the 10x10. the white and red cell theory i feel is very true,their are people who can do sets of 12 and respond very well to it and people who respond great to 4-6 rep heavy movements. me personally i have no stamina and i never have had any, i love doin heavy movements (well heavy for me). i just wanted to give that guy my input on his question thats all.
 
Trainers that get their training certificates and base their knowledge on the curriculum and "flex" magazine are generall worthless as a lot and give trainers a bad name in general. I also train people for a living and all the best trainers I know Pullinbig included don;t have nor ned a stinking certificate. You know what Pullingbig, myself and many of the best trainers in the game have? Real life experience training real people. I read a lot of studies and most of them are WORTHLESS. PB reads less than me but you know what. You let him train you, and he will make your ass grow--FAST.

I "collapse" all the time when squatting. With 500+ lbs on my back. Whats the big deal, you go down and the safety pins catch the weigh. You better damn well understand that if you want to train people. But first you gotta understand not only how to make yourself grow, but how to make damn near anyone grow. And 135 x 10 x 10 isn't close.

what kinda income do you make as a private trainer since you dont work for a gym? i heard that clubs rob trainers of their money.
 
Im not in it for the money. i do it cause i love it. i train at a couple of gyms (no affiliation) and online. i prefer one on one but there is a bigger market for me online.

certs are a joke for the most part. i got certified years ago as a favor to a friend. he wanted me to do it with him so i did. it was a joke. had little to do with weight training. some of the folks in my class got certified and had never been in a gym before. the cert dealt more with the business end of it and how to deal with the public. i never had probs talking with people so i dint need a human resources class for gym ediquette. my cert lapsed after a year and to renew it guess what, they wanted more money for a class that sucked.

prolly 90% of the trainers i have seen at gyms are lost. they dont even look like they work out. and even if they did after seeing what they got their clients doing i see why they dont look like they work out.

i specialize in strength training. and guess what? that's the key. strength gains keep an athlete progressing in whatever sport he is envolved in.

my suggestion to you is to drop that 10x10 and srart squatting deep for less reps and sets. you want high reps? try 1 set of 20 ass on the floor deep. if you cant squat it deep then you got too much weight. back down and try again. nothing sillier in the gym than to see someone high squatting. guys with big legs can get below parrallel so a 170lb should have no prob, esp raw.

Might give you more credibility to the gyms or people that don't know any different, which is most everyone. Nothing wrong with having the certification. Just don't expect respect just because you have it. I don't think you will, anyway. If you advise your clients to squat deep, then you are already better than most trainers out there.

I'm probably not exactly the experienced older lifter you've been looking for but I've lifted on and off (mostly on) for ten years and during that time my bodyweight has gone from about 150 @ 6'2" to right now 200. However, last summer I got up to just over 225 (from just under 200) in about 8 weeks using the Super Squats program. I started doing everything however, as the author Randall Strossen suggests, I trimmed down the routine on a workout to workout basis depending on how I felt. The core that was always there was benching, rowing, and of course, the 20 rep squats. Sometimes I'd only do it twice per week. And of course - I ate like a mofo during this time period along with a gallon of milk per day as is suggested. Was all the 25+ pounds muscle? No - but a majority of it was. If I ate a little cleaner in those same caloric amounts (and upped the protein to over 400 per day) it probably would have been that much better.
