Supplements you take that help with TRT and health?

As I've been reading it seems as though many people recommend taking micronized pregnenolone, and micronized dhea along with TRT.

I take Vitamin D and Fish Oil and have for years. Just started TRT so I'm not going to do any other hormone stuff till after my first blood work, but will definitely be considering pregenolone and dhea after that.

I'm curious why you take potassium?
high blood pressure... those three together will lower your blood pressure... i also take coq10... forgot to add that..

cialis will also help with enlarged prostate issues or the chances of them happening.. i take a low dosage..

fair warning.. magnesium causes vasodialtion.. so if youre already taking cialis i recommend lowering the dosage before you start taking magnesium.. i made the mistake of running them together at a higher dosage and had a migrane for 2 days

Oh, ok. I didn't know it could be used for that. I have slightly elevated BP, and just use cialis for it. It does the trick. I use 10mg/day BTW

Coq10, this is for 30yrs and under right? I'm 36 so the ubiquinol would be the way to go right? Does anyone take NAC and notice a difference in blood work?

not arguing just curious how that would be beneficial with trt? I thought those were sort of "master hormones" that your body uses to make test and other hormones, which would not be necessary with trt.

I am not convinced the ubiguional or CoQ10 is beneficial for anyone unless you're on statin drugs. I took it for 2 months, and didn't notice anything except my wallet was lighter.

I don't know about NAC.

I agree with fish oil and vit. D.

Not so much vit. E

Everyone should take NAC, whether on TRT or not. It has so many amazing properties, it's only a matter of time before the supplement industry catches on and starts marketing it like crazy.

Note: You may feel a little lethargic or "off" for the first week or so; that's just the antioxidant properties going to work. It goes away and you'll notice a difference in energy levels as well as a nice improvement in liver values.

My .02c :)

How much NAC should a person take when not on cycle? When on cycle I've read 900mg-1200mg.

Again, this is just from reading various articles and talking to a few people. I've read that pregnenolone and dhea levels go down, because natural test production goes away. They are not replaced by exogenous Test use, and not raised enough by adding in HCG either. So, I've seen it suggested by many to take pregnenolone and dhea along with a TRT protocol to take care of the other hormone values, and keep yourself feeling the best. Apparently if pregnenolone levels drop too low people can experience anxiety and lethargy. If you start taking pregenolone and experience some anxiety soon after, I've been told that's a sign that you're too low and need it.

Micronized appear to be the best way to take preg and dhea, because the absorption rate is around 90%, vs non-micronized being around 30%-50%.

Great info thanks. I'm beginning TRT and I'm taking 600mg a day. I'll bump that up. Should the doses be split up, or 1200mg all at once? Thanks.

I go a little higher than the doses Ben listed, but I weigh over 300lbs too. I split my doses as the half-life is almost six and a half hours. (I go with 1000mg x 2 on TRT)

How does one know if they are low in pregnenolone?
Is there a blood test for it?
Doesn't HCG backfill pregnenolone?

This is exactly what happened with me, except I wasn't able to find any info on the web with my searching. All sources said Pregnenolone will only decrease anxiety. I had really terrible anxiety once I started it and it went away once I stopped it. Can you provide any more sources or info on this? How long will the anxiety last? bc it was super debilitating

Sorry to de rail thread
