TO keep body fat low and maintain optimal health you limit sugar intake to a couple meals a day- post workout and maybe your morning meal. To get through the other sugar free meals (or low carb diet) you rely on artificial sweeteners. Two big questions about sweeteners are: are they carcinogenic, and can they increase food intake?
New research done over a span of 13 years has determined that users of artificial sweeteners are not at an increased risk for cancer.
A new study done on humans (not animals, like in the past) has debunked the myth that artificial sweeteners can increase food intake. Researchers have found that non caloric sweeteners do not increase food intake and in fact, if you use the calorie free stevia based sweetener it may further enhance fat loss by keeping your blood glucose and insulin levels lower.
