T3 & T4

Can someone confirm that Levothyroxine is in fact T4 and not T3.

Also, I understand T3 to be around 4 times stronger than T4. Would you therefore multiply your previously calculated T3 taper dosages by 4 for the correct T4 dosages.

Cheers bro's

levothyroxine = T4
T3 and T4 are not used interchangeably, by just figuring doses based on potency. They are different, and much of T4's action depends upon the body's ability to convert T4 to T3.

I think it would be obvious that T3 is the answer, T4 requires conversion and not everyone has the same conversion rates.

T3 would be better....however with T4 there wont be as much of a "rebound" effect.

As long as you taper and don't get psycho with your dosages I don't think you have to worry about "rebound" with T3.

T3

T3 is what you are looking for. T4 is useless for fat burning unless your 5 alpha- reductase enzyme converts T4 into T3. So why bother with T4? Also there is no way to use a formula to compare T4 and T3 dosages as it depens on your conversion which is affected by diet, etc. So in a nut shell take T3 at no more than 50mcg/ day for a week-- 25mcg/ day for a week--- 12.5mcg/ day for a week-- off for at least four weeks. You should not have any rebound.
