Could someone have a gander at this pic (about a week ago in a comp) and I'm after better lat development and a better V-taper

My back w/outs incl:
Pull-ups - pretty wide occ w/ a weight belt - 3 sets of 8-10
Lat Pulldown - narrow grip
Bent over rows
Seated Cable Row with narrow double grip
Incline Row
Roan Chair

TIA

1. Do you do all those exercises in one workout?

2. Was that picture taken prior to to flaring your lats out or at the conclusion of your pose? It looks like you are squeezing your shoulder blades together and not flaring them out as much as you could.

3. You could try reverse grip pulldowns, as you are better able to get a full stretch of your lats at the top as compared to other pulldown movements.

Of course all of this advice is coming from a powerlifter so take it with a grain of salt. :)

No mate, the exercises are varied through different work-outs. I try and mix em up. also periodise with heavy/higher reps/and compound2. It was on stage in a rear double biceps

Here's one in the Lat spread but a bit far away.

No no dead lifts....strongly recommended????

I'm 56

yup, builds a phat ass back. you seen ronnie colemans back?

youll rarely see a competeive PLer who has a small back. all the heavy deads pound it nicely.

you look good for 56, nice work.

I would do big lifts (deads, rows etc) before little lifts (pullups/pulldowns).

I would disagree that rows are a 'bigger' lift than weighted pullups. Pulldowns are a different story, but weighted pullups use more muscle groups than rows in my opinion. The day after a few set of pullups with about 55lbs added, my bis, lats, traps, forearms, even abs are all sore.
