Test Cyp injection messed up?

I just switched myTRT to injections of test cyp but I'm thinking I messed up my first injection for a few reasons being I'm having more problems with the injection than the YouTube videos I watched.

I'm short on time ATM but will return to list my full protocol and workouts etc. I'm just hoping you guys can help me out on my test injection method before I need to do my second one Wednesday.

Injection method used: injected 1mL of test cyp into outer part of right quad muscle. Using 23-gauge needle. Pinched skin near knee, pushed in slowly at 90 degree angle, injected test cyp slowly, waited about 20-30 seconds to try and ensure test will stay in (did not seem to help but recommended in vid). Pulled out slowly in same 90 degree angle. As soon as needle was out a stream of dark red blood shot out about 6 inches, covered with cotton ball, blood stopped in few seconds.

Issues I'm having that don't seem normal: blood shot out in fast stream when I slowly pulled the needle back out. Hurt some yesterday on injection day but today it is so bad I've been limping bad. Not just being wimp here it hurts pretty sharp to the point there is no way I could do squats near a shot day like this or much walking it seems. I did do a lot of walking and some running in it which made it worse but seemed bad to begin with. Bruise formed is about size of 2 quarters.

Any advice on method or needles (or what these slin pins I hear of are, how they work, and why better) would be much appreciated!

Let me know if you need more info or if this is a pretty typical result.

Thanks guys!

"Pinched skin near knee"
for what purpose? did you aspirate first? blood shooting out not normal. probably hit a blood vessel. i just did my bi-weekly pin in my quad, and no issues. try your delt next time. fairly easy. just started my testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), so i don't have a lot of experience pinning yet. good luck.

aspirate , aspirate, aspirate

keep using quad just be careful , do research plenty of info out there. it gets much easier as you get more comfortable.

also IM about one hands width up from knee

draw imaginary line mid knee and IM in outer part

Pinch was suggestion in YouTube vid, seemed to do nothing anyway

Yes, I did asirate.

I was about 1 hand up from knee on outer side of quad.

Needle is 25-gauge 1 1/2 inch, made sure it went in all the way. Tis is the needle testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) recommended to get into muscle further.

One hand up from Knee? Ouch. Outer quad means higher up. Pin your upper outer quad about 8 inches down from your hip bone. You are pinning way to low. Blood squirting out happens once in a while. No big deal. It can still happen if you aspirate. Not sure what you are watching on youtube but one hand up from the knee is way to low. Unless you are 3 feet tall.

What is your body fat. I never go 1.5 inches in a quad either. I use 23 gauge 1 inch pins for quads. My skin is thin in that area though.

i went all the way but only a 1in needle. I think 1.5 is probably a little much if you use it I would only go half way.

I agree with above. 1.5 inch is good for glute, but only about 1 inch is required for quad. I'd guess that you had a very unusual occurrance which unfortunately happened on your first pin. Perhaps you went through an artery on the way in, and you were nervous, raising your blood pressure and making it worse. Double check where to pin for the quad. 25 g pins work best for me, but I started out with 23.

The first time is always memorable, even if it goes well. (Your first injection too!) I managed to stab myself under my thumbnail with a 20 g the first time. Compared to that, the injection didn't hurt a bit!

Good Luck with No. 2 !

I went through a blood vessel once too. I didn't inject into one, but the needle hit one on the way in. I use a 23 gauge 1 inch needle in the quad. When I was pulled the needle out blood started gushing everywhere. It took me a little time to stop it. Now I keep a roll of toilet paper next to me when I inject just in case it ever happens again. Don't worry about it though. You will be fine. You just had some bad luck unfortunately during your first pin.

Another thing -- don't push the needle in slowly. That hurts. Jab it in there. Seems scary the first time, but I promise that you won't feel it going in.

TRT? How much are you injecting? I have had 100% painless success injecting 0.5ml E3D into delts with 25g 3/4" needle. Zero pain. I don't even feel the needle go in. (OK, I did once stopped, swapped needles, did it again with zero pain.

If you're injecting once per week you might be doing 1ml, which would make it twice as much volume therefore increase the chance of discomfort. That's one of the reasons I do E3D - easier, painless, stable levels etc.

The AAS boys are the ones that need to inject a lot of volume deep into the big muscles, not us testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) wimps.

If you haven't already watch YouTube videos on Z Track method of injection. Understand why the method works as it has helped me tremendously. Also, target the middle third of the outer quad to be in the "safe zone".
