Test E After Shoulder Surgery?

I was planning on doing a test e cycle after my whitewater paddling season ended, when I actually had the time to commit to the gym. However, I had to have shoulder surgery last week to repair a torn labrum and reattach a bicep tendon. I'm going to take rehab slow, but I was wondering what everyone on here's opinion was in regards to taking test within two months of a surgery like this. There seems to be two schools of thought: 1. Strengthening everything around these areas will help keep everything in place, thus, assisting in the healing process. 2. The test would dry out my joints and tendons, potentially doing more damage than good.

I've never ran anything besides test and I've never really felt any stiffness in the joints, but I'm certainly not saying it couldn't happen. Has anyone had experience in running a cycle after a surgery such as this? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

idk i have a shattered clavicle and when im back in the gym have a cycle planned for about 8 weeks after I'm back at it. assuming all is going well

Not sure how much it pertains to your situation.....I tore my groin while on cycle, craziest feeling I ever had, everyone told me it would take months to recover, in 2 weeks maybe a little more and I was atleast at 95% or better

This is interesting that you brought up recovery of connective tissue with test..

Test increases collegen synthesis moderately, which is the building block of all connective tissue. With that said, I think this only pertains to doses under 400mg/week, and above that the collegen synthesis begins to decrease.

The scholarly paper I read for school only mentioned usage up to 400mg/week in the patients, so I do not know what the source was for decreased collegen synthesis above the stated dose.

Hey bro, I'm dealin with the same dilemma.... I'm 3weeks out of the same surgery along with a torn rotator cuff as well as torn sub-scapula tendon.... I'm gonna run sus-300 with deca,as a blast I.m thinkin I'm gonna wait till my therapy feels good and my gut tells me its time. 12 weeks or so.. I'm on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), 200mgs a week and have been for 3 year with no side-affects like joint/tendons drying......at least not to my knowledge! Good Luck man!

OK well i actually have had reconstructive surgery on my shoulder. Recurrent Dislocations from rugby. Operation was 2006. Anyways long story short i always struggled with strength in bad shoulder. It would always give out and pain intensely even after 2 or 3 years from surgery. I then went on a deca test e cycle and it really kept some water around my joints and made me feel 100x better. Just 2 cents worth. I am currently on another test e deca cycle.

Thanks for all the input, fellas. I've been trying to find as much info as I can in terms of actual university studies on the topic and I do believe if I stay around the 350-400 mg per week, I feel fairly confident I'll be fine. I know most bulkers are going to say that I'm wasting my time at that dosage, but I'm not looking to get very big, I just want to be back at 100% in time for the spring rains to drop some class V stuff without worrying about jacking my shoulder up, getting out of my kayak and receiving a severe f'ing beating from the river.

I apologize for the long delay. My recovery was excellent. I had surgery Nov. 6th 2012, and by March, I was already running some of the biggest whitewater I had ever been on before. I've traveled all over the eastern US on some big stuff and my shoulder has literally felt better than ever. During my cycle, I did NOT lift very heavy. Bench for example, I would do 5 sets of 15 with 135-155. I wanted to build the muscles without putting a shit load of stress on my jts, etc. I'm positive I didn't get as much from the test as I could had I threw around heavier weight, but I did recover quickly, which was the whole point.
