Test results, should I take clomid?

I have been monitoring my testosterone for the last 3 years or so. I've always thought I had low test but wasn't sure, read a lot on test decreasing in general in the united states. Previous years were like 300's then a high of 550. Got a test done in February while getting a cialis scrip from urologist

Estradiol 13. Reference values 11.6-41.2 pg/mL
Shbg 9.8L. Reference values 13-71 nmol/L
Testosterone free. 73.2. Reference 34-246 pg/ml
% free. 3.2
Testosterone. 229.0 L. Reference. 245-1600 ng/dL


The urologist was like meh your free test is what matters an it looks ok
I was like wtf. My libido had def for down in the last 5 years, occasional erection issues, increased abdominal fat, irritability. I think I have low test

The doc took more blood that day to confirm and will put me on clomid to increase my testosterone

What do you guys think of the numbers? Will clomid help?
He doesn't want to give me testosterone because it make me infertile and I haven't had kids yet

I doubt it will help, it looks like your primary. This means your testicles are receiving the FSH and LH signal yet they are not responding.

Clomid stimulates FSH and LH so since you don't have a problem there it is useless.

Besides Clomid makes most guys feel like a girl.


tell your doc he is too conservative, that your free t may be in range but its a the bottom of the barrel, what a 90 year old would have.

I don't think low doses will make u infertile. I think that's only higher doses and for prolonged periods of time.

I've seen many guys knock up their old ladys on cycle. It does make it harder. Clomid is used to induce ovulation in women who do not produce ova (eggs) but wish to become pregnant

From the published material on HCG treatment for guys with ASIH (anabolic steroid induced hypogonadism) almost all of them recover.

I can't remember what show I was watching but my buddy rocko had it on this box that streamed shit to the TV, it was a trial on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and this guy did a whopping 30 day trial on testosterone.

During the show he saw three doctors, the Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) doc, his GP and fertility specialist.

The show was dumb as hell and the stupid ass Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) doc gave him like 36 plus a day, nutraceuticals, to take and his liver values you went up and this anti Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) GP told him he better stop or he is looking at long term damage.

The fertility guy, this 90 year old dude, said in all his years everyone recovers, as long as they were capable to begin with.

OP from wat I have seen clomid treatment never works forever. I am sure someone who was obese could possibly lose weight and restore their levels but that could take some time. If that is not the reason you have hypo then clomid will probably only work while you take it, as soon as you come off TT levels will drop again.

My twstcles are normal size so I wouldn't say I have hypogobadism. I do have a gut with belly fat but wouldn't say I'm obese. The doctor said it would be permanent treatment, basically I can go on clomid forever because there are no long term permanent side effects that are known

Where as testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is known to cause infertility. I think I will his ask for testosterone shots.
Maybe if I lose the gut and diet and sleep more I can get back up to 500 range.

Even though I want to stay at 1000 range :/

This is usually at higher doses but it has never been studied long term. Your doctor is wrong. If your testosterone is low due to insulin resistance it is possible to reduce visceral fat and restrict carbs and get your natty going again, I guess that depends on how far you are in the hole. Clomid treatment is not forever.

You tested so low on testosterone there is no doubt you are hypo, figuring out what type is another story. Maybe that cool place by your house can help you figure that out

There is no correlation between testicle size and testosterone production, I say this based on reading material and based on board member updates, for example we have members here who claim to have rather large testicles before going on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) because of their lack of testosterone production.

Wouldn't the prolonged/permanent use of T without HCG cause testicular atrophy and thus cause infertility? At least as long as nothing else is changed with that type of treatment?
