TRT Cons? why would someone not want to TRT???

why would someone not want to go testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). I mean unless they have natural levels at like 800-900 ng/dl. Why wouldn't someone want high manley testosterone levels forever? I know of a couple reasons but not all. I may consider testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) but I D K yet.

My T was 320 before testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). I was 240lbs (5'10) and a no sex drive. After 3 years of being married and in love with my wife we only had sex once a month because I had no desire. Now, after 4 months of 100mg test cyp a week, cleaner diet, weekly jiu jitsu classes , I am down to 220lbs and having sex at least 3 times a week. testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) saves marriages and saves lives, believe that!

Cost.
Embarrassment.
Injections.
Prefer being "natural".
Sciencetologist.
Fear of unknown.
Trying to have kids.
Wants to try dynamic therapy first (i.e. restart)
Has Prostate cancer.
Past drug abuse.
Psychological problems
I am sure there are many other reasons.
Misinformation about TRT.

Well, to me, the pros have obviously outweighed the cons but testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is definitely not for everyone. Here are some cons that I have experienced:

1. Injecting for the rest of my life. Sure, maybe it is not so bad now, but shooting myself every week for the rest of my life seems like a really long time. Additionally, you will most likely build some good scar tissue, etc.

2. Tired of constantly having to balance shit. Dialing your hormones on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) can be a pretty complex process for a lot of guys. In my case, I take testosterone, my estrogen goes up. My high estrogen causes my dick not to work properly. Then I lower my estrogen and I crash it too low. And trust me, I have been in this game for a long time and I know how to control these sides but finding that perfect point has been difficult. While me being on Arimidex, my liver values would shoot up to a range I wasn't cool with. Remember, all the hormones are tied to one another so when you mess with one thing, you will have to monitor everything else and sometimes that can be a bitch. In fact, it took me a good year before my hormones were dialed in. My blood pressure has been on the high side since starting testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) so I will need to look in to blood pressure meds soon, etc. In my experience, testosterone can lower thyroid output so a lot of my friends on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) are now on thyroid meds, including myself. So yeah, some guys think that testosterone will make their dick so hard a cat couldn't scratch it, yet sometimes it is the opposite until you get dialed in. When I look back at things, with my low test level, my dick was harder than while on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) because I wasn't having to worry about my estrogen control, etc. Just something to think about.

3. Kids - Not saying you cannot have kids on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) because I know guys who have had several, but not everyone is so lucky. So if you are planning to have kids, this is a con you will have to think about. If you are like me and can't stand those fucking midgets filled with snot, then by all means get a vasectomy and get on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and do the world a huge favor. Haha.

4. Prostate issues - For some guys this can be an issue. For a brief period during my testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), I was having some prostate issues as far as my urination, etc.

5. Having to Donate Blood - My RBC's can raise pretty high so I need to donate every 3 months. Is it a big deal??? No. Do I have a vagina?? No. But this last time I donated (and my RBC was really high), I felt like I got hit by a truck for like 2 days afterwards. I couldn't even go in to work. It was really odd. Besides that, those bastards at the United Blood Services use a fucking 16 gauge in the vein. Jesus Christ. Might as well jam a pencil in my arm while you are at it. And for some reason, I have bad luck and I always get a fucking newbie that can't stick me right the first time. Kind of like when I go to hooters and I get the ugly fat waitress. Same shit here.

Now, my pros:

1. Wayyyyyy better body - My body has changed tremendously since being on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). My body fat has gone down, etc.
2. Positive Outlook - my mood has improved tremendously and I have a positive outlook on life. I am happy instead of depressed and moody since starting testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).
3. Sex Drive - My sex drive is crazy. Back in the day, I could get really hard, however, I just never had the desire. And we all know, if you have no desire to bang your girl, then some other guy will take over that job for you. So now sex is constantly on my mind. I have recently added in some Cialis to the mix and now I am good to go. Haha.
4. Strength Increases - I love how much strength I have been able to gain and just how far I have progressed in the gym since starting testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). Having low T levels and trying to get stronger is like pissing up a rope.
5. Increased Energy - It is so much easier for me to get out of bed everyday. I have that energy that I used to have back in the day so that has been a good thing for me.
6. Cost - To me, the cost is not that bad at all but to some of you cheap motherfuckers out there that are so tight, they squeak when they walk, I am sure testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is not something you will love to pay for every month. I put this as a pro because it is not as costly as people think, especially if you are with knowledgable company that knows how this shit works (IMT). Shit, I could cut out eating out a couple times per month and a few coffees and that savings could be used for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).

Those are the main ones. Just wanted to shoot it straight from the hip!!!

Its worth if you feel like crap.

But main reason for not to I would think is money and run around. For one if your insurance does not cover it you could be talking a few hundred bucks or even more a month specially if you are doing more than just T. Which may not seem like a lot, but to some it might be. Second is the run around a lot of people get, by this I mean having doctors visits, multiple blood test. specialist, its a pain. You can go on the gel which is easy but even with that having to take a medication every day or inject once a week is a hassle thats a fact, is it worth it, to me it is.

Some may just take all of that and say screw it. A lot of guys with exercise, diet, sleep, alcohol control can naturally increase their to something maybe not good or great or least manageable.

Damn, thats a great post! Funny shit in there

Another reason -- I am tired of having to go to the doctor's office or lab all the time. Just another thing to figure out how to schedule into my day. Or one more time I have to tell my boss I have yet another doctor appointment.

Becuase you have tried it for a year and it does not work for you

I know but why would someone not want TRT???

I too, wanted the increased libido, fat loss, muscle gain that testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) "promised" – But after nearly a year, I have experienced none of those things. I have low SHBG and I – literally – feel no difference between 100mg a week, 50mg a week and even 400mg a week of Testosterone. No difference if I take or do not take Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) with it. I don’t aromatize anything so I never need an Aromatase inhibitor (AI), and I don’t seem to convert anything to DHT so I have no libido.

I guess everyone is different. Maybe you can try Gel, Patches, maybe something else besides Test Cyp/HCG will work for you. Who knows....

Where is your estrodial reading normally at??

I'm an old bastard and I believe that everyone over the age of (insert number here, but no higher than 50) should be on it. It keeps me vital and healthy and banging my wife and . . .

Actually, perhaps not everyone. But if I spend five minutes with someone I reckon I can predict to 95% accuracy whether they should be in it.

As for the cost: Go legal! It costs me about thirty bucks a month! And that's the real, pharmaceutical deal, unsubsidised. To say nothing of being able to get on a plane and walk through customs anywhere untouched!

What Level is Not Needing it?????

Most docs won't prescribe if you're above baseline levels (250ng/dL Quest) although GOOD docs/clinics know that it should be based on how you feel. I still felt like crap up to about 500ng/dL, but at about 750ng/dL I feel FANTASTIC! I'd add more reasons, but riprockwell pretty much summed it up perfectly. :)
