trt patients

So...I know testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is never really something most people want to hear our of their doctor's mouth, but would anyone say that on a hormonal level testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) patients are actually healthier and function better being that they control ALL the amount of testosterone in the body producing constant stable blood.levels? In theory guys...not saying everyone should rush to be on trt...

I would prefer to have my testicles making T for me at a fairly steady rate rather than relying on an ester to try and even out my levels for me.

There's fluctuations with testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) just like with endogenous production. Hormone levels rise and fall with each injection on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and as the body metabolizes the ester.

Of course natural is better, none of us really want to be slave to a needle for life, but when things just aren't working right, artificially regulated levels feels way better than naturally low levels. There are plenty of benefits to having higher T levels, but there's a list of risks and issues to watch for as well. It's usually not a decision taken lightly by anyone who faces it.

The benefits and risks of testosterone replacement therapy: a review

But in short:
The risks of testosterone replacement therapy depend upon age, life circumstances, and other medical conditions. There is a risk for prostate cancer and worsening symptoms of benign prostatic hypertrophy, liver toxicity and tumor, worsening symptoms of sleep apnea and congestive heart failure, gynecomastia, infertility and skin diseases. Testosterone replacement therapy is not appropriate for men who are interested in fathering a child because exogenous testosterone will suppress the HPT axis.

Ahhh gotcha...well wasn't saying it's better than natural...just speaking in terms of hormonal system stability.
Which doc answered for me
But...like every medication including things as small as Tylenol, there are a million reported possible side effects lol
Doesn't it seem like some of the side effects (possible sides) of.some medications are actually worse than the problem.you are treating? Lol

Lol you're absolutely right, there's always some sort of reaction in the body to any medicine.... Some good and some bad.
That's why it's so important to find a doc that really knows his stuff and is actively checking all the potential sides involved. The endocrine system is an especially codependent thing...

LOL, I think this is the bargaining/justification stage of addiction we all go through. Being on a good test cycle is awesome, and it's normal to never want to come off. I think at some point we all start thinking "I could just blast and cruise and everything would be great all of the time". Not trying to give you a hard time Frank, I know I've thought about, but also know what a really bad idea it is, so I've never taken myself seriously, but it's normal to day dream.

Haha I gotcha bro...don't cycle right now, too young....
But I'm talking about testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) patients taking "natural" levels of test a week :)

i dont mind testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), coming off blasts is alot better now... only thing i hate about testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is the pinning once a week! :P seems so wasteful to pin like 200mg, other then that no complaints... plus i love my wife (25gx1) and her sisters that all look alike.... :)

I would much rather be natural. Constantly watching my hemocrit since mine likes to climb and raise my liver values when it gets high. That full physical my doc insisted on the other day wasn't any fun either. I'm glad he's looking out for me but wow. It made me realize a lot of things I didndt think about and took for granted. I always figured just standard blood work up was fine. I find my myself constantly striving to be healthier and healthier because of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and meds I take for an injury. I am not wanting to push my luck other then for a few blasts. ;)

did you enjoy getting your prostate checked :P? was he gentle?, hopefully he didn't have fat fingers...

Honestly, I would prefer to have a good natural testosterone level but it just wasn't in the cards for me I guess. Lol. testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is great when you had the test level of an 85 year old man. So overall I can't complain but it can get old sometimes. If you look around this country, people eat more processed foods, are fatter, guys have estrogenic bodies with big guts, pointy tits, etc. So honestly, it is nice to know that my total T is higher than most guys and my overall health is in better shape than what it was before testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). I can only imagine in another 30 years, guys test levels will be almost non-existant. Lol.

PS - I call my doctor skinny fingers so I can't bitch about my prostate exam. Lol

It's all fun and games until you realize both his hands are on your hips during a prostate exam. ;)

OP: It's about risk versus reward. I'd much rather not have to worry about my red blood cell counts/blood pressure/hematocrit/estradiol/the apocalypse making testosterone difficult to obtain, but it will be a cold day in hell before I go back to having low testosterone. If you need testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), it's a godsend - if you don't, enjoy the fact you can still live somewhat worry free for now. I do enjoy that I have a measure of control over my hormones now, but would definitely trade that in for a healthy pair of nuts. ;)

My .02c :)

What is your zombie apocalypse plan? Have you been able to refill enough to stockpile enough to cover you thru a few weeks? Or drop the dose to low but tolerable levels to last a while?

Not really. I'd rather have naturally steady levels. But happy that testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) exists.
